My first Carbon fiber part ( Thanks Anvil )

I just had to set them on the car to see how they look. I like them a lot and they seem to fit the AM subframe very well. They are just set on not bolted to anything but I thought I would share a couple pics.

Very cool look great against the red but i have a question? Why did you go for the wheel wells first. Not trying to offend just asking??

Thanks, I honestly wasn't going to use any of the carbon parts as the hood, valences, etc are already painted but I did not want to have to fab my own as the stock inner fenders do need to be modified to work with the AM subframe and so when theses became available it was easier to go with them. I may end up painting them not sure yet. I like the smooth look and the fact that they don't have the holes that the stock ones have is a plus also. I may have to use the Katech CF valve covers to tie some other parts in. I'm open to ideas.

AWESOME I wish that made a almost universal fit inner fender like that, one I could modify to fit my truck since I don't have the tools to recreate one. In steel ofcourse, but that does look awesome!

I had Kurt spray my exposed carbon fiber parts with PPG Flex n Flat. I think it looks awesome.

Scott, I really like the look that the flex n flat gives, but was wondering, given its low gloss finish, do you have to respray if you get a scratch?

Matt

I like the idea of a flat clear. I'll look into that. Thanks!!

I guess it would depend on the scratch, but it would be as easy as sanding and respraying. My chin spoiler still looks in great condition after a summer of bugs and abuse.

Man those inner wheelwells sweet..was just talking with tyler about them today. I was down at anvil and tyler set me up with a prototype 3rd gen nova hood and trunk lid, and let me tell you, they look sick. Ill post pics when i get a chance but my god am i impressed with the look and the quality. they are a class act over there. He even showed me around, offered to let my dad drive his camaro, and showed us the 73 they are working on. Great group over there with some great products

First time seeing these!! Looks great. Clear will be killer!!

1970judge 10-23-2009 09:21 PM

I would possibly sacrifice body parts+cash to have a carbon fiber hood and iroc spoiler for my third gen...hint hint.

Is the hood a cowl or flat hood???

LowchevyII 10-24-2009 05:25 PM

its a 2 inch cowl

Those look great Paul. I agree with the flat clear finish too. It would be a shame to cover those up unless you are going for more of a "restored" look.
Do you have any more pictures of the rest of the car?
