Looks like Bad Penny did not win he got 4th place not 1st place I wonder how the Optima guys messed that up. I am sure alot of guys are not going to be happy with the outcome.
|

Most of the guys in the "winners circle" asked Optima to recheck the numbers. Winning isn't everyting, integrity is. :) I for one am thrilled with how we did.. next year we will do better! |
That is awesome that they set the record straight. Congrats to all the put on a show for us. Can't wait till next year.
|
Nice, so they made a mistake and did award the Cobra the win. Well congrats to all that competed. Looked like and awesome event.
|
A lot of guys were complaining about the cobra at the event and that car kicked huge A&& at the runs and should have won. He was fast super fast. We all were scratching our heads wondering how he didn’t win but now we all know why. Good call to the guys for making it fun and fixing everything.
I think we proved that you can have fun with a mostly stock car as we got 4th overall for time. We might have been exhibition but we still have kick A&& numbers over most of the guys. All and all it was a fun day thanks to all for making it possible. |
One thing that I learned is tires make a huge deal, I was not aware of just how big it is till now. Awesome event. :hail:
|
Congrats to all the winners.
Looked like a great time. |
Man, Ryan drove the wheels off the Test Car!!
|
Glad they got it right. This is a great event

How about that 0-60-0 for 2Tons-O-Fun??????? 8.5, no wonder I broke parts...
13th out of 51 cars, not bad for a sled and handicap driver. Stuart you are right, tires make a huge difference. Even my 888s were like a knife at a gun fight with the R-1s etc. In my mind though 888s are streetable, not sure I can call R-1s street tires at least wet streets. |

Must have been those lousy Interstates that fatigued the A arm! LOL Hey! It looked like you were having fun! And that's what counts - you were in it to win it... driving like you stole it... and thank you for that!! Greg |

You don't really think we're going to fall for that do you? :unibrow: |
All the guys the competed are winner the effort put out just to be there. congrats to the guys that help put on a great show.   For next year don't bring a gun to a lazer fight. That what it will be very fast car that go left and right and stop on a dime and give you back 9 cent change.:lateral: :lateral:
|
I hope the focus stays on it being a fun event and all about bringing out our cars to show what they can do. I'm glad they got the scores corrected, we all knew there was something wrong. The temptation in all this is to build your car into a race car. I hope we don't get carried away. Steve, how are we coming with that carbon fiber Cobra??? :)
David |
Charley, great job on posting a 1:52 on the track. Pretty fast.
Maybe next year BFG will let Kyle run the race tires also, it would be cool to see what the second gen can post. I'll bet most keep tweaking their cars which will make for an even better event next year. |
I thought I was told that Kyles KDW's were special compound ?
I'm glad they recounted everything. That must mean the Cobra driver was the guy that built the car for track use for the owner.. I think in interviews I was worried about how we would do against the Nissan GTR but even I ran the road course faster than the GTR. |
From what Kyle said BFG wanted to see the difference in times since both cars are usually pretty equal. He said when they were testing it was about 5-6 sec faster per lap on their cars.
Pretty impressed with what Carroll Shelby did back in the day. The cobra has some updates and is lighter, etc,., but 43 years ago that car must have been unbelievable compared to what else was out there. I had no idea they were that fast. |

We should be set for next year.. Schumacher is helping with the assembley and I think Michael will be a good addition to the team... |

Nice to know the Cobra would slaughter the GT-R.. that warms my heart :) Quote:

9th for 1970 Fairlane/ss boat....lol Way to go Tom!! I pesonally want to thank Tom McBride and Bowler Transmissions. Tom worked his *ss off on the Fairlane to put a 4-link in the rear, coilovers in the front, new rack and pinion and custom made monte carlo/stut tower bars. Of course nothing fit but Tom custom made alot pieces along with the help from Air Ride/Ride Tech guys. Thanks Guys!!! I love the new Tiger Cage from Ride Tech it is Sweeet! Thanks Bret!!! I still can't figure out how Tom drives in construction/work boots and pulls off a 45+ sec autocross time in the Fairlane.....lol It's a true testimate of driving skill and his car set up. Thanks again Tom and everyone who helped on the Fairlane!!!!
I also want to thank Nick for driving the coolest 2010 Camaro in the field!!!! I think....lol Great job driving Nick, 11th place!! Great job Steve on the Stance and the look!!! It looks Bad *ss guys!:hail: I want thank everyone for a great event and all the supporting vendors!!!! |

Good deal on the Fairlane, if PHR didn't have their heads in the sand about this event it would have been perfect for them to cover the car at the race. |
I'm also glad that the day went so well with as many cars competing as there were. There was some concern that we'd never get it done before dark, but it went well considering the carnage.
|
Even though I ran exhibition I think had 5th fastest lap time on the road course.:woot:
|

Next time just drive with your thumb - you'll be much faster! Less frictional losses... :wow:  |
What a great event. It shows how far we are coming and pro-touring is here to stay baby:thumbsup:
