HOLOHAN'S HOT ROD SHOP - North Carolina
6 Attachment(s)
Hey Guy's,
I am new to Lateral-G but famliar with the forum and just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and also give some background about myself and some info about my new shop that I will be starting in Jan. of 2010. My name is Dan Holohan, originally from Illinois but now reside with my family here in Mooresville, NC. I previosuly worked at Rad Rides as shop manager/fabricator for 5 years and most recently at DSE as lead project fabricator for 2 1/2 years until my departure from there in September of this year. Here are some of the project's that I have been involved in through the years while at Rad Rides and DSE. At Rad Rides, I was involved in the major fab on Glenn Grozich's 62' Chevy twin turbo "Chicayne" and Joe Rogan's 70' Cuda "Sick Fish" which was featured in Team Killeen's Build Book #1, along with the 69' Camaro Top Sportsmen drag car ( in the book Art of the Hot Rod), the 63' spilt window Vette "Split Second" and also doing fab work on George Poteet's "BlowFish", the 61' Cadillac convertible Cad Attack, Ritzow's 32' and the 07' Ridler winning 36' Ford "First Love". At DSE I was involved in the fab and assembly work on Dale Jr's 2nd Gen, most recently completed Jason Stavola's 69', Chandler's 55', Poteet's FireBird and Stuart Adam's 69' Camaro. Currently I am now in the process of setting up my own shop here in Mooresville and will be ready to roll in late January of 2010. My shop is well equiped with a variety of all the necessary sheetmetal equipment inside a nice, well lit 2000 sq/ft shop with 12' ceilings and a 2 post lift. I will be working solo to begin with and will be specializing in custom sheetmetal design/fab work ( engine bays, spoiler's, dashes, counsoles bumper work, etc.) for street machines and hot rod's along with custom header/exhaust design and fab. Along with doing custom work, I will also be taking on basic fab work as well, i.e. mini-tubs, sub-frame connectors, roll cages, etc. Even though I will be running solo for awhile, I do have a list of reliable resources that I will be using for turn key builds. I look forward in getting involved with everyone here and will be occasionally posting as time goes on. I am currently in the process of developing ad info and a small splash website in order to give a little more info about the shop Contact info: Dan Holohan HOLOHAN'S HOT ROD SHOP Mooresville, NC 28115 email: [email protected] cell: 815.210.8196 Thanks Guy's, hope to hear from you soon,,, Dan Holohan HHRS |

Hi Dan, also a huge fan of your work, I loved the sheetmetal work on Sickfish, way to nice to cover with carpet lol lol . I have a question that maybe you could pm me on or share with everyone. In the build section I have a Fastback mustang i just started, im running independent rear with a tall tire about 28 in. have you in the past been able to slam the rear ( which would put the diff way into the car with a large tunnel) and still keep the backseats minus folding down. I just finished the intial mock up but as I was leaving the shop today I though about Rogans car and remember it had a large kick up ( gear vendor if I remember correctly with a short shaft) was that kick up the reason for no backseat (a) ? and (b) in that scenario could a backseat have been fabbed at least for looks if you needed to or was the room just not there because of those monster wheels. I am going to try and section the seat as much as I can but I am prepared to loose it if I have to, Anyways not quite there yet but thought I would ask while the post is fresh.
Thanks again and enjoy the site some great people on here with awesome cars. Ross |

I talked to you a few years back at the SEMA show, we watched the Ebay Mustang make its final bid and the sale end, we talked for about a 1/2 hour as I was a big fan of what was coming out of Troy's shop. Good luck with your new endeavor, can't wait to see what rolls out of there! |

Love your work!!!! Chicayne is the main reason I changed direction on my car for the good!!! :hail: :hail: That dash and all the other work for that matter was amazing!!! I am actually trying to do a similar dash to the 62's, nowhere as nice orhigh end though, lol
Good luck on your own, I am sure you will have a long list of projects awaiting your skills in no time!! |
I've talked to and emailed with Dan a bit over the last few months. Finally got to meet him today and check out some of his projects. As others have stated, his fab skills are amazing. Shop is nice, new and very clean. I must admit I had equipment lust for all the Dake stuff  .
