Almost done! - 67 Camaro Vert

2 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,

This is my first posting, so I'd like to introduce myself and my project. I live near Memphis, TN and have recently gotten my car back on the street. It's an early production 67 Camaro Convertible that's been subjected to a frame-off restoration. It sports a full Hotchkis suspension front and rear, fast-ratio steering, ceramic coated headers, Magnaflow exhaust, 18" Rushforth Rated X's on Nitto 550's, a custom mix pearl red with black cloth top and other goodies. Still working on the stance, but let me know what you think!

I want to say thanks to all you guys for your posts. The info I've gained here has been a great help.

Also, thanks to Jason Rushforth and Jon Henson of DriverzInc for their help in creating the custom wheel finish and fitment.

Kevin

First off, she's absolutely gorgeous! I think by your inference to the stance, you may feel that it sits a tad high? From what I recall, the Hotchkis package is around a 1" drop. It'll probably settle a bit, and the '67-8's are tough to get a real tucked look due to the round arches. The wheels are spot on for the car's style though, I like it!

You might cut a coil in the front and do a 1" lowering block in the back. I am in the same boat....mine is a '69 though and the fender design helps. My front sits higher than I would like, but the back is OK. I may cut a coil, I used Hotchkis 2" drop BBC springs since I have an iron headed Pontiac motor and it's heavy as sin.

Have you thought about a bolt in coilover conversion in the front and a set of DSE dropped springs in the rear?
You would get a better stance and gain much better handling at the same time with the new components. Not to mention it's very easy to do and the least expensive upgrade.

Thanks for the compliment. Your Camaro looks great! I almost went with the same wheels - they look fantastic. What did you do to the front suspension to get the front wheels tucked so well?
