Mario, that's the clear with some base peeling off of the base coat.

what did the owner say when that paint came loose like that..:brix: wow...looks great now.. Tom |
Wow! My jaw dropped on picture three with all the paint peels sitting on the hood. That's craziness.
Actually, if I was the owner, I would box it up and file a lawsuit against the previous shop. They obviously did something wrong or were negligent somewhere. I would think this would be grounds for some form of reimbursment. My first phone call would be to the paint company to get their opinion as well. |
Love the paper paint.
|
Nice work Pete! The paint peeling was a big suprise to everyone I bet! :faint: Kudos for diving in and making another car 'right'!! Tell the boys hi for me!
You have a lot of cars in the shop right now!! Don't even see mine! |
Don't even see mine![/QUOTE]
He shipped it to my house. Said I could have it for my x mas present. Pete is way better than Santa.... |
WoW! That the darnest thing Ive ever seen! Ive never seen paint pull off in sheets like that. So much for suface prep! LOL! Looks like you got it straightened out, and looks outstanding!

Holy crap Pete! You sure that was paint. The way it was coming off in sheets you could swear it was a banner decal wrap over metal. LOL
As for the owner of the car... its a shame spending funds you weren't expecting but it looks like hes in good hands. |

I have images of that car driving down the freeway and the paint just all flaking off in a huge dust storm of blue paint :)
|
May we ask who painted the car prior to it coming to Pete as to know who to avoid.
|
Tones, wasn't that nice of Pete for helping you partially recover from the Aints whacking your beloved Patsies?! :P
|
I would hazard to guess they may have dry fogged the base and did not wipe the car down before shooting clear creating a boundry layer of dust. Looks alot better now.
