Just got my first DSLR
Family got together and got me a DSLR. I'm so excited to get back into photography at a hobby level again. I carry my point and shoot canon everywhere with me so I figured it was about time I started shooting with some real lenses.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...2014.07.32.jpg Camera is a Canon Rebel t1i and I have the 18-55 lens and a 55-250 lens. Will get better lenses if I see the need and get real into it again. I haven't touched a real camera body since about 1995 or so  Some pix. Criticism is encouraged. Obviously not the best location, I just finished washing the car and going through and touching up all the track paint chips... http://lh4.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_4983.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_4991.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_5006.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_5014.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_5027.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_5040.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Sz...0/IMG_5041.JPG I love playing with new toys :willy: |
I got my wife the same camera for Christmas. Very nice piece.

You are going to love that....there's nothing like a DSLR! Just yeasterday I was able to get pics I would have missed without my DSLR!
Remember to use the 'rule of thirds'....it will make it more pleasing to the eye and not look like a snap shot. Enjoy!! |

Please explain. Thanks. Maybe it will enhance my experience with my XSi. |

check that out, it should help. It helps everyone get away from taking the usual centered image. Enjoy the t1i. Its a great camera. Wait till you start getting deep into photography, its gonna get expensive and turn into a sickness, not unlike our hobby with these cars. id also recommend this book: http://www.booksamillion.com/product/9780470521281 will definitely help you get started as well as give you some great tips for shooting. Digital Photography for Dummies is also a great choice as well. Best of luck wiht the new camera --jeff |
There ya have it, thanks Jeff!!

My GF gave me a Olympus E-620 with 3 lenses for Christmas
Only Lens that is missing is the Wide Angle not sure I will need it though as the std lens seem to be pretty good. Awesome Camera. Tonny |
Very nice! I'm jealous!!
First stop.... polarizing filter! It will make all the difference in the world!! |
That's a nice starter DSLR, enough of a challenge to make things fun, but not so hard that it discourages you :)
Good luck and have fun! |
Congrats on your new camera, it's a good one! I got my first one last year, and i love it. I found a few good sites on the net that i learned from, and just the other day i received an e-mail from a company that has chosen one of my pics as a finalist for one of their travel brochures! That's the great thing about a DSLR camera, you can take tons of pics and if you don't like them you can just delete them and it costs you nothing. So take lots of pics, it's the only to get better!

I know nothing about the SLR or the DSLR camera's. What does the initials stand for? I only have a point a shoot camera.
Rogue, is your Rebel camera user friendly? I am looking to buy a new camera but I must do my home work before I purchise one. Thanks. |
