How does the ceramic clear hold up to northern, sand and stone layden roads? Only summer of course, but we still have alot of crap laying around that can chip paint. Polishing is usually easier, but if it's actual ceramic it may hold up. Thoughts?

PRRC 01-15-2010 04:29 AM

We have used the ceramic clear on cars that are using the wheels as a daily driver. A very durable finish. But some what expensive. I believe 95 a wheel.

Hi Tim, I asked this same question over at Protouring, but are the prices listed on your site for a "Fatlip" profile wheel? Wanted a set of Budniks, but never looked hard into them because I thought they were more expensive than Intro, Bonspeed, Billet Specialties etc?

tobenk 01-15-2010 02:32 PM

Cool guys. I like to see what the ceramic looks like on the wheels.

Greg, always enjoy the humor side of all your post. What size and color tillers did you order?

Lenie --

These are wheels (Budniks) for my buddies 55 2 door Post (Chevy). It has an Art Morrison chassis and an LS2 and Tremec 6 speed... he has Chromed out Tillers all around - the problem came when I finally stuck some front sheet metal on and discovered he had ordered the fronts with the wrong backspacing. So had to order a correct pair. The fronts he mis-ordered would be the CORRECT for that size on the REAR. He just picked up the wrong column.

The rears are 10" 18's - the fronts are 8" 18's

Ah, ok. Greg, we need to be neighbors, you have tools and I think you already know how to use them. Seriously though, I just bought some land down on Ruston way Tacoma. Trying to get ready for retirement, so, we are getting closer.:unibrow:

Lenie --

Nah.... I'll stick by my bi-line... I just go down to the shed and play like I think I know what I'm doing. I really don't. I thought that if I bought the tools - they'd jump into my hand and make me a real car crafter. But I suck.

Wheels are going to be picked up tomorrow to be platted...

hey Jay, since we have the same last name, does that mean I get the "family discount" :unibrow: I will be looking at a set of gasser wheels later this summer though.

That is true

ssx 03-03-2010 05:17 PM

Hey Jay, Are the 6 week or less build times still going strong? I ordered a set of 18/19 Cannon's polished spokes and lips with brushed details from PRRC and the confirmation sheet says 2/16. Just wondering because we have a big car show and cruise here the second week of April and I want to make sure I have the wheels on my car by then. 6 weeks would be end of March, which would give me a little over a week to get the tires mounted and everything sorted out? Thanks, Steve

ssx 03-29-2010 10:48 PM

Jay, I really need to know what's going on with my order? It's now been over 7 weeks since the order, and over 6 weeks since the confirmation. I've been given three different ship out dates and none have been met! I'm getting really nervous that I will miss my cruise and show? I really need to know whats going on, and what you guys are going to do to make sure I get my wheels in time? I need them to be HERE by the end of this week or I will probably not make the show? That would be really messed up...

Swain 03-30-2010 09:43 AM

Steve,

I emailed you with what was going on with your wheels. That was Thursday. Explained the situation to you.

But you come on here and try to act like I didn't tell you anything?

If you have any other questions call our shop first before you post on here since you never have done that.

Build times are now 6-8 weeks.

ssx 04-03-2010 01:48 PM

Jay, Sorry I got a little impatient when the build time went past 6 weeks. I got home today and they were waiting for me next to the Nova. AHEAD of schedule. Shipping to Hawaii in 3 days is unheard of usually. I was also impressed with the quailty Gorilla lugnuts etc. Wheels look awesome, but I figured they would...Just wanted to clarify for people reading this, Super high quailty and made sure I made my show, despite me being a constant pest regarding their delivery time. I'll post pics when I find someone to mount them. Thanks, Steve

70rs 04-03-2010 03:59 PM

Steve,
I am really glad you posted up the "good" part of the transaction. All too often we hear the "bad" and usually only one side of things. It's great when we can all see how hard some of these vendors really work to take care of our needs and keep us happy. Thanks for posting what you did today.
Without vendors working so hard we would never get our cars done.

Looking forward to the pictures of the new wheels.
