Project "SCAR"
One of the latest projects being built by Roger Burman at the Lakeside Rods shop is a 67 Camaro for Karen Leisinger. Karen has had several first gen camaros built, but couldn’t convince herself to purchase a 2010. So Roger and Karen decided to make the best of both worlds. The car will be powered by a Warren Johnson racing 500 Cu in LSX motor. Horsepower will be somewhere in the range of 1000+. The motor is backed up by a Gearstar 200R4 Trans and a Detroit Speed Suspension. Look for Karen and Roger at one of the Good Guys’ events. Keep checking Eric Brockmeyer’s website to see the rendering of “Scar”.
More info and pictures to come as the build progresses. http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/IMG_0317.jpg http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/z...IMG_0320-1.jpg |
My policy is honesty, and I honestly hate it.

I know everyone has their own taste and style, but I have to admit I don't see any of it in this build. Seems like a ton of money wasted on butchering an already awesome car.
|
This is a tough one. I just dont see why anyone would want to make a first gen look like a new gen. Seems a bit backwards.
|
Will you be putting the interior from the 2010 into it? Would like to see a 1st gen with this setup---I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone does it---who will be first---

Dare to be different. There are 1000's of camaros on here and to a non camaro owner/fan they all look the same!!!!!! Yet this one grabbed my attention. However if you had done this to a Falcon i would be dissin it too!!!!

I'd like to see more pic, seems alot of fab work, I just don't like the wannabe diffuser and chin spoiler is a bit too thick and looks out of place, but I like the rest. Was the roof skin modified as well?

Wow guys, nice way to be friendly.
Honesty may a good character trait, but so are charity, courtesy, and empathy, and each should be tempered by the others. Shiny Side Up! Bill |

You need to hold back judgement on this car. I've seen it in the construction process and now it is in primer. The Brockmeyer renderings are insane and the car will be as cool as the artwork. I'm not a big Camaro guy but I think this thing is awesome. You really can't see much from these pics so keep an open mind. It will be a contender at Columbus..you can count on that.

I don't like low riders but at least I will appreciate the workmanship. Thanks for sharing the pics. Always nice to see something different. |
Post the rendering.

It is definitely pushing the envelope. I like the ideas that are going on in the car. Craftsmanship looks top notch, but the pics are pretty small.
Can't wait to see even more of the car. |
I have always had the philosophy of "it's your car and your money build it how you want to, who cares what other people think"
One thing I have noticed about this site is no matter how a car is built someone will always be the first to point out " I wouldn't have done this or that" or "I really don't like this or that"......well.......it wasn't YOUR money. So I say let the guys at Lakeside build the car how their PAYING CUSTOMER wants. Sure every body might not like it but hey that is the whole idea of building a car which is the way YOU like it not how someone else likes it. The fabrication/craftsmanship is damn good! Cannot wait to see the finished product! |
It's pretty clear this car will be a either love it or hate it deal. I'm sure this is something they thought about when it was in it's infancy. The 5th gen just hasn't grown on me like I thought it would. It's just my opinion, nothing personal. I totally agree, whatever floats your boat. It just reminds me of one of those 1st/4th gen combinations.

Welcome to :lateral: Thanks for sharing

i think the new camaros should look like that , and the old ones look as they did ...:)
|
I've seen the rendering and can tell you the car is going to be sick. If things go as planned, you'll have to wait until the April issue of Camaro Performers to see it, but I think most of you will agree that this car is going to be a very cool ride.
The sheetmetal work in itself is amazing. Nick L. |

OK
 MORE PICS OF THE CAR PLEASE... Tom |

This guy gets it! The Leisinger Camaro is all about what a late 60's concept car would look like. The bridge between old and new. This was the idea from the start of this project and I'm telling you...you will want to see it in person. The interior renderings and metal work are unreal. The carbon fiber hood is a work of art.. well.. you get the point. |

I, personally am not too crazy about the 2010 Camaros at all. But, looking at this car, in it's current stage, doesn't look too bad to me. Again, need to see more progress before I make up my mind. I am assuming this engine will be ProCharged or twin turbo, or something of the sort to be around 1,000 horses???:_paranoid :unibrow: |
Cams,post more pics,please
|
Any updates on this car?
|
hey i like it ..post up some pics!

I think it's funny when people get bent out of shape when someone says they don't like something or would've done something different. What's the point of posting on here if don't want people's opinions? Not that anyone should be rude about it but I think it should be ok to give opinions respectfully.
I don't personally love the mods done, to me it just doesn't make sense to make an old car look so much like a new model when you could buy the new model, but to each their own. I can at least appreciate the skill and creativity:thumbsup: |
Yeah it does seem pretty dangerous to post an opinion contrary to that of the majority. I dared once to post my distain for the flared fender look and got roasted.
This car looks to me to be tastefully done, not my choice but I can apprieciate the craftsmanship in it. |
You must of missed the memo, this is a high school popularity contest.:D
|
The craftsmanship is stellar, but I can't say that I like it. I'm not really a fan of taking old cars and modifying them to look like a new version. Looks a bit like a Frankencamaro. But who cares. Let's just hope the owner loves it. That's all that matters. It will certainly be unique.

I saw these 2 cars that were built by Lakeside last summer. Both were really nice. I especially liked the Impala.

Opinions are like as.....I mean belly buttons. Everybody has one.
The skill to make this car is top notch, that goes without saying. The fabrication involved is HUGE. As for the styling, I'd like to see it finished before making any final call. |

Don't sweat it, I get Flamed for edifying a car and saying it's "the baddest in the UNIVERSE", it's all good. Whoever, some people here do need to read "HOW To Make Friend and Influence People" Chapter one" It's more import to be effective than being right" Waiting s second, am I criticizing anybody, I'm sorry, I take that back. |
gossdammit, can we get some bigger better pictures in here?

Maybe these are the only pictures the OP has. Maybe he's not affiliated with the build (don't know) Maybe he snapped some photos visiting the shop, who knows. Maybe the photos weren't suppose to be released Maybe if members are looking for more info they could contact the shop directly. |
