So I finished the valance fiberglass and everything is smooth and filled. I also primed it in gray to match the front end. HAHA. the LED turn signals are going in this weekend. and its ready to be installed. I cant wait to take some pics.

Nice Bird!

I've always liked "the poor man's mustang" because it is kind of the underdog. I had been watching a cherry little 62 (or 63?) hardtop near me for a long time. It went up for sale for $3,500 and I did not have the space because of my '55. I had to make a choice, so I kept the Chevy. (Not enough room for wife, three daughters, AND TWO PROJECTS. Kids are hard to sell! Wifes cost too much to get rid of, I've heard. )

I also used to know a guy who made a hard-core vintage racer '65 Falcon and it was beautiful.

I REALLY like your car! Keep us posted.

I like the way you fit the Mustang fiberglass front apron to your Falcon.

Hi

I must ask one question and please dont think im picking at the car ..I like the car and what youve done.thanks for posting the pics ..
Im wondering if you are gonna build an aluminum ? filler to go between the lower grille and the top of the bumper to fill that space in and kinda connect the bumper/grill area....Looks like your very creative and i was wondering.

Tom

Bryce 02-16-2010 08:41 AM

I havent decided what to do there yet. The valance is as high as it can go to line up with the body line on the fenders. But I want to do something with that gap. I will see what it all looks like once I get my intercooler in the valance opening.

radrambler 02-16-2010 09:07 AM

Thanks . . i see what your saying about the line. Thats the fun part "customizing"...I would take some light gauge aluminum and bend it and tape it up there on the backside and break out the lawn chair and just look at the front of the car....but thats me
Keep up the good work and im interested to see what you do..

I would make it out of fiberglass and attach to the front valance. Make a mold of thin aluminum and than tape in on your front valance. Use fiberglass mat and than when it is set up trim to the shape you want.

Bryce 02-17-2010 07:43 AM

good idea, I am a pro at fiberglass now. HAHA

Lawn chair ? You can see your lawn?

Don't forget the beer, when you can see your lawn you have to have a beer, even if it's non alcoholic. Otherwise how do you get to the point that you only care about what you think instead of everyone else

I can't wait to see my lawn.

legend 02-18-2010 05:22 AM

there used to be one of these raced in the UK,

and a good friend of mine raced a 1L

http://www.bmsad.co.uk/admin/CMS/HTMLImages/S023-0.jpg in the same circuit race series, he said he could hear the falcon coming on the straights

First off - this car Rocks. I don't know what it is but I love it. Maybe it's the simplicity that makes it so freaking cool.

As for the gap - make a nice filer piece that you can ad to the front end but make it removeable. The other thing I would consider is some sort of mesh behind the front bumper opening ( which looks awesome BTW ).

Keep us posted with the update and thank you for posting the pics.

Thanks man. Everything on the car has a purpose. NO FLUFF.

I think the bumper opening will be perfect for an intercooler.

Your welcome - so do i smell forced induction

Bryce 02-22-2010 03:17 PM

YEP:)

going with the small procharger C2, it will be perfect match for my small 289 at 8.5:1 compression ratio.

Bryce 02-23-2010 09:23 AM

Im painting my subframes connectors tonight with some self etching weld through primer.

I will be bolting them in while I plan the rest of the car around them. My front drive shaft loop and rear third link crossmember will be tying into them. But I will need to take them in and out a few time before I can final weld them to the car. The weld through primer will ensure that the back side of the SFCs will be protected.

Bryce 02-24-2010 09:38 AM

I painted the subframe connectors and got the blinkers all wired up and the horn mounted and wired.

Bryce 07-22-2010 11:26 AM

Long time since any updates. I bought a house, so I have been busy with that no time to work on the car.

I keep changing my mind on wheels. Here is what I am currently thinking.

http://www.tswalloywheels.com/alloy_...urburgring.php

Its a TSW wheel.

http://www.tiresdirect.net/TOYO_Prox...7_91_P5093.cfm

Also I found this seller for R888s at really good prices. I would like to have this combo.

245s on the front

http://www.tiresdirect.net/TOYO_Prox..._P4744C789.cfm

http://www.tiresdirect.net/TOYO_Prox..._P5094C789.cfm

And one of those on the rear. Obviously after I do my minitub and 3-link.

Bryce 09-08-2010 04:42 PM

Here are some updated pics. I got my new tires. Big thanks to Drivers Inc. they got me a great price. The fronts are falken azenis 245/45/17.
