Hey Guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know how much I appreciate your cars and all the hard work that you put into them. My Father-in-law, Brother-in-law and myself are working on a 71 Chevelle convertible that should be completed by spring. It sits higher than I would like but it's still work in progress. |
Nice Ride!!
Welcome.
The Chevelle is Lookin' good! Im happy to see more Chevelles on the forum. Keep us posted on the build. |
Nice Ride
Thanks! Man your Chevelle is sweet! It sits perfectly!
|
Great looking car you have there---those wheels set it off nicely---motor looks sweet--is that a zoops front runner you've got on it?
So, what are the future plans for the car? It doesn't look like it needs much from the pics----sounds like you will have to get at least two others to agree with you on whatever plans you have. :willy: Welcome to the site---really is the best place to be when it comes to this hobby! Doug |
Nothing better than a black convertible. Nice:thumbsup:

Welcome. It is always nice to see fellow local with cool projects! Come on out to our car show Feb. 20th and put some faces with names! Could walk away with a free set of wheels, hinges, and more! Check our website for details, www.driverzinc.com

Thanks! You guessed it. That is a Zoops set up. The engine was custom built by M&R in Glendale Ca. It's a Chevy 383 producing 465 hp with a Moser ford 9" rear end and a TCI 700r4.
I have CPP slotted and crossed drilled disks all around, CPP springs and Hotchkis sway bars and boxed rear end. The front sits WAY too high for me so I'm going to change out the springs along with adding some camaro style houndstooth interior. |
Justin
I'm there!!!

I'm glad to hear that you "can see" that the front is a wee bit tall... Welcome to the site!! Nice car!
My old statement - when the top goes down - the price goes up!! Nothing better than a nice drop top! |
Doug,
I can't wait to see your ride in person. It is one of the sweetest camaros around! Tony |
Thanks Greg! You have no idea (well maybe you do) how much the height of the front bothers me.
|
That can all be sorted out.... and should be cheap or I should say "reasonable" to fix. Dropped spindles -- or some different springs... whatever it takes.
But the car is gorgeous... regardless. |

OPG has drop springs, and they are right here in SoCal too. Cheap and easy way to get that thing to set further down. If you have any questions, call us, and I look forward to seeing/ and meeting you at the show on the 20th! Spread the word, its for a good cause, and the bigger the turn out, the more we help these families who need it.

I checked out the OPGI springs and I think that is my best bet! As for the car show. Will it be held at the shop in Corona? |

Welcome!
Tony,
That is a beautiful Chevelle! You guys all talking about meeting at Driverz in Corona makes me really miss living in Rancho Santa Maragarita. I wish I could make it down for the day (about 3-1/2 hour drive) but daughter's 7th birthday party trumps car stuff. That, and my project car is still just a project. Of course, if Justin could come up with a pair of tires for me ... Larry |
Funny! I grew up in RSM and lived there up until about a year ago. Nice area! We have had to cross paths at Fuddruckers.

Nice car man.. super clean.
What brand are those wheels? |
I went to Fuddruckers a couple times with a '67 El Camino I built. It was maroon with 16" TorqThrust and a license plate, "BLTBY(hand symbol)". Sold it to a guy in Beaumont, and he sold it to someone else now.

The wheels are Boyd Coddington's "Dictator". 19x8 in the front 20x10 in the rear. Rumor has it that when Boyd sold the wheel division of his company "Dictator" and "Two Tone" were the only wheels that he kept with is business. |
I never really liked any of boyds older designs but I just went on to there new website and man they have some really nice wheels..
I did a double take when I saw your rims and the double 5's.. all of their designs are looking alot better then before... clean and simple.. good choice! but yeah.. drop the nose of that car(LOL) |
