hey guys my name is kevin and ive never post anything on here just kinda followed the site and looked at all the cool projects on here. my stepdad scott with the sunoco camaro has been telling me i should post some pics of my car on here. although my car isn't much compared to scotts car or alot of other cars on here i decided to throw up a few pics of my car ive been working on for the last two years and see what everyone thinks. the goal for the project was to build a car as cheap as possible yet still perform well and look good and hold up to some serious punishment. but anyway heres a few pics of my 69 camaro.

Kendall Burleson 02-07-2010 07:29 PM

good looking build.:hail: :hail:

Derek Miller 02-07-2010 10:38 PM

Sounds like you have great mentor and possibly a great extra set of hands which is always important. The build is looking great. What subframe are you running?

T_Raven 02-07-2010 11:02 PM

Looks good so far. Did you build that subframe?

yeah scott is definitely alot of help if there is something i cant figure out the answer is just a phone call away. lol the subframe i built off of scotts jig using stock camaro geometry. i wanted to run C6 suspension but im building the car on a tight budget so to try to save a little money i used the camaro stuff.

Hey Kevin Nice Project!
FYI Join Photobucket to post pics makes it a lot easier

68400BIRD 02-08-2010 12:21 PM

Looks great so far. Keep up the good work. Really impressed that you built your own frame.

Rybar 02-08-2010 12:41 PM

Project is looking great. Sounds like your stepdad will be a big help with your build. His car is awesome.

Hey guys Kevin's car is really a nice build. He is being very modest.Kevin worked side by side w/Brian Kellison on the paint & body work and the car came out smokin hot. This is a 24year old that owns his own house pays all of his bills and stills manages to build a bad as% hot rod. Most of the time he works at lest 50hr a week.He has built almost every part himself.I have done some tig welding and givin some advise but thats it.And when it's done look out because he can wheel a car.I will not win another autox agin.I guess that go kart racing as a kid is now going to back fire on me now.

waynieZ 02-09-2010 09:10 PM

haha thanks for talking me up scott! lol ill have to admit its been really tough keeping up with everyday life and still find time and funds for the project. but when its done all the hard work and hours will be well worth it! thanks again to scott for all the advice and help....theres no way i would have made it this far without his help. and also want to thank brian kellison...he really helped me out on the paint and body work and did a hell of a job! im really happy with the way it turned out. hope to have the car running within the next couple months.

Nice work! Great color choice...

Not every build has to be 8 bazillion dollars! I love what you're doing - keep it up and hold your line... Good to see a family working together for that common goal..

rlplive 02-15-2010 09:53 AM

Looks great man. You picked a great color. I can't wait to see it done. Maybe you can take it to the next Optima Challenge?

When it gets nice again I will have to come down and hang out with you and Scott again. I would love to take a ride in it.

hey guys i havent posted any progress photos of my camaro in a while so thought i would share a few pics since the car is close to being done. over the winter i installed the vintage air gen IV dse wiper kit and the interior and stereo in the car. also got a steal on a set of Z51 corvette brakes and anvil carbon header and wiper cowl. a few little things left to do and now saving some money for a set of forgelines and i think i will be good to go. but anyway here are a few pics. thanks kevin

Nice car.
What wheels are those? They look pretty cool on a '69 Camaro. Are the center caps missing on them in the pics as well?

as scott said they are centerline hammers, and they were a set of wheels we had laying around and used them on my project until i can afford a new set of wheels. I decided to leave the caps off because i didn't care for how they looked and went with long studs and big lug nuts to kinda give it the race car look.
thanks for looking, kevin

millertime179 03-16-2011 08:12 PM

scott instead of putting cup holders in the car i decided to buy me one of those beer helmets and fill it with dr pepper so i never get thirsty while out on the autocross.

I rode with Kevin at the Good Guys event in TX yesterday. He's a heck of a wheel man...nice and smooth. It's a nice car and built in his 2 car garage. Kevin is like 25 years old and has some mad fab skills...I guess some of Scott's skills kind of rubbed off on him a little. I enjoyed the ride and the conversations with Kevin and Scott.

coolwelder62 03-20-2011 09:38 AM

Kevin's camaro worked real well this weekend. We need to tweak on it a little more.He say's he needs more power to hang w/Kyle Tucker and Brian Finch. As awlays we got meet and hang out with some great people. Can't wait until the next goodguy's event.

radrambler 03-20-2011 12:23 PM
