69 Camaro Project Vert
My project begins
Tony at Muscle Car Metal did an excellent job restoring the shell. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...l/DSC_0070.jpg http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...l/DSC_0076.jpg http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...l/DSC_0072.jpg He also installed the Art Morrison rear subframe during the build that Frank at Prodigy Customs ordered for me. I have a feeling Frank will be getting a lot of my money during this build. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...al/ArtRear.jpg DSE mini tubs installed http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...l/DSC_0074.jpg Got it on the rotisserie http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...l/DSC_0016.jpg |
Nice project. Tony does some nice work. That looks like a stout back half from AM. Have you decided on a power plant yet. LS or old school? Keep us updated. Good luck with your project.

Next step in the project
Need some help from the experts. I am going to prep and coat the underside with a bed liner and need to make sure I have the steps correct so it turns out good.
1. Sand any surface rust that may be present on the non edp coated pieces such as the subframe and mini tubs (will 180 grit work?) 2. Red Scotch bright the areas to spray that have the edp coating or should I just use 180 grit? 3. Clean with waterborne wax and grease remover 4. Dry the panels and then wipe down with tack cloth 5. Spray SPI epoxy primer (How many coats?) 6. Seam seal all the panels (any recommendations or favorites for sealer?) 7. Should I put another coat of epoxy primer on and what is my time window from first coat of epoxy primer? 8. Apply bedliner coating (What is my window to put over the epoxy primer without having to scuff with red scotch bright?) 9. What are your recommendations for undercoating? I was looking at Raptor or SPI. Please give me your input to the above info on what I am using and if I have the steps in the right order. Thanks Colin |
