My New Forgeline SO3's

Here they are! SO3's with polished outer hoops, brushed/cleared centers, and blind bolt option. I plan to mount an balance this weekend and sit them under the car for more pictures.

I also want to note that when they showed up, it was to my surprise that the inner hoops were powdercoated. After talking to Frank, he says that all Forgelines purchased through Prodigy Customs have that option for FREE. Thanks to Frank for his patience with me through this and his superior customer service.

Specs:
Fronts - 18x8" with 4.9" bs
Rears - 18x11.5" with 5.4" bs

They were a little more expensive because of the brushed centers and blind bolt option, but well worth the additional money.

Thanks, guys. I'm pretty pumped up about them. I'm scheduled to get the tires mounted and balanced tomorrow, so I'll be updating my build thread with pictures of the rear tires/wheels under the car. No rear end or suspension yet, but it will give the basic idea of what they will look like on the car. The subframe is still under construction too, so it will be next month (hopefully) before the car is on the ground.

I posted some pictures in my build thread. See the link in my signature below.

Great looking wheel. Congrats. The powder coat on the inner wheel hoop that Forgeline adds to all their wheels standard, is a nice feature and really helps with cleaning.

ProdigyCustoms 02-21-2010 01:35 PM

I see where you are correct, looks like they do offer it on the street wheels now, even though the website says they offer it on premiere wheels. Looks like competition wheels are still a extra cost and we do free powder coat on competition wheels also. I would not have known Forgeline started doing the street wheels had you not pointed it out since I have always done powder coat inners free on all my Forgelines. So my statement that we do free powder coat on all inners is correct, your statment that Forgeline does it on all their wheels, is not correct.

Nana nana boo boo!

ROFLMAO

Forgeline 1 02-22-2010 02:04 PM

As Frank stated, we powder coat all of Prodigy Customs inner rim shells.
Its an option that He and I worked out a while ago. Its a no charge option on the Premier series, but there is a charge for it on the stepped lip series. The powder coated inner does make a better product, easier to maintain, and carries the finish through the entire wheel.
We are always looking for ways to better our products and services. We have our own powder coating line here in Ohio where we produce all of our wheels. Silver, gun metal or black are the standard powder colors, however we build wheels 4 at a time to customers exact specs, if you want a lime green inner rim shell, we can do that too!

As always, we welcome your feedback and appreciate your support.

Scott, your website states the exact opposite. We have had customer call us today and state the exact same thing. Regardless of the deal you have with Frank, we all need to make sure we are on the same page on the step lip "Performance Series".

DriverzInc 02-22-2010 04:24 PM

So someone tell me if I'm reading this wrong... If so, would love to know how.

Clicked on Performance Series, Chose the SO3. After selecting a size, clicked on finish options, and this is direct from the Forgeline site:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...pLip_Inner.jpg

Am I missing something here?

Its obvious "special colors and polished" are additional, but otherwise, it looks to me that the standard powder coat finishes are "$0.00".

We just want to be sure we're all on the same page, and a level playing ground.

Forgeline 1 02-23-2010 12:43 PM

I would like to end the confusion here. In the past only Premier wheels included free powder coated inners. Recently we decided that all street wheels should have powder coated inners, including Performance Series wheels. For street cars that the wheels are not removed from very often, it makes them easier to keep clean and just an overall better product. Competition wheels, however do not come with powder coated inners, it is still a $60 option.
I hope this ends the confusion and we can all sleep better now.....

Also, thanks for all the great comments about the wheels, we are looking forward to seeing that set on the car!

Thank you, that makes sense, and is consistent with your website. We appreciate the clarification.
