1969 Mustang Project "Nasty" from Christiana Muscle Cars, Inc.

Hello, I'm Erich Bollman, owner of Christiana Muscle Cars, Inc. in New Castle, DE www.CMCResto.com My shop is a performance and restoration shop that does mostly Mustangs. Our new 1969 Mustang Fastback “Pro-Touring” project “NASTY” is well on its way to be completed. Its only been about 2 years in the making... This is a shop car that has been getting worked on in between customer cars.

“NASTY” is highlighted by a Ford Racing 5.4L Shelby GT500 crate engine, Ride Tech suspension, Tremec T-56 transmission, McLoud Clutch, Afco Racing radiator, Dynacorn sheetmetal, SSBC Brakes, Currie Rear and Bonspeed Wheels with BFG tires.

This 1969 Mustang has many trick body modifications including shaved drip rails, custom rocker panels, shaved door handles, custom Boss 429 style hood scoop, custom side body scoop, custom rear valance with center exhaust and bumpers that are modified and sucked in close to the body.

I would like to thank some of the car sponsors including Ford Racing Performance Parts, BASF and Finishmaster Automotive Paint Supply’s.

Here are some pics:

Speedshifter,
Man you just missed our Open House. Oh well give me a call and let me know when you can stop by. We are right outside the Port of Wilmington.

Beautiful car!!! How is your 2008 CJ running?

65 347 02-28-2010 09:14 AM

Awsome color and finish, the "shocker" hood scoop is huge but looks great on this car.

CMCResto.com 02-28-2010 09:22 AM

Rusty,
Hey man good to hear from you. The new CJ went a 9.67 at 139 at the end of last year with a C-4 auto. This year we are switching it to a stick shift so it should go a bunch faster!
Also, I went with the company you recommended for the Eleanor kit. I mentioned your name for what ever that's worth... Nice people to deal with.

2008 FR500 CJ Factory Drag Race Car # 18 out of 50 produced.

We also did work on Don Fezell's CJ. Including roll cage, wheelie bars, weight box, fabricated trunk floor, rear seat delete deck and other stuff that I can't really talk about. ;)

I'm glad Don has a legal cage in it so he won't get in anymore trouble going in the 9's.

why would you expect to go faster with a stick? I ask because it has been my experience every time that people switch to automatics to go faster because it is just so hard to shift that fast. I have seen countless cases of guys with blown Mustangs running in the 11s at say 135 mph with sticks that immediately go into the mid 10s if not faster just going to an automatic, so I don't follow your rationale.

Awesome Color

That combination of spot on. Great build and "Thanks" for posting the pics.

CMCResto.com 03-02-2010 07:15 PM

Yes I agree with you in most cases. The street cars that are blown especially do pick up a bunch when switched to an automatic. First the blower likes to be tugged on like a stump pullin' diesel. Second the street transmission and clutches just aren't the best for drag racing.

There is a big difference between street stick shift transmissions / clutchs like a Tremec and full drag race stuff. I'm running a McLoud 8" dual disk clutch with iron disks and a G-Force transmission with a vertical gate shifter....you just pull and push back and forth without lifting and without worring about blowing the trans apart and you cannot down shift. Also the clutch is adjustable so you can compesate for a lot of things.

Lastly stick transmissions are all I really know. I've been racing NHRA Comp Eliminator for 15 year with a stick shift deal. I currently have the NHRA Comp Eliminator E/A National Record in my 1992 Ford Probe GT ex pro stock car 2350lbs. It runs a 312 cid sbf with two carbs and no power adder. The engine makes 855HP and the record is 7.64 at 177mph with a 5 speed.

Here's a pic that is a couple years old...

fully agree, didn't get from your post what level of trans you were using, and agree most sticks are Tremecs, H-patterns, etc, hence why I asked for clarification ;) The trans you are talking is way different than what an average guy would think of as a "stick". I have a sequential shift, full dog tooth transaxle in my racecar that is pretty much "floor it and yank gears" but wouldn't refer to it as a stick trans in conversation :D

Sorry for the delayed update but we've been slammed in the shop. We spent a couple good weeks on "Nasty" and she's looking great. We took "Nasty" to All Ford Carlisle last weekend as an in progress build and it was great. Here's a few pic's from the weekend...

fvike 06-09-2010 10:52 AM

A girl in a 69... it's a beautiful thing...
She's put a lot of work into that body! And you guys too! Looks great! Have you considered putting on the front lip? It adds a lot of aggression to the '69. Other than that, I love it!

ja.stoner63 06-09-2010 10:58 AM

Mind blowing...talk about hitting a guy at all levels of excitment.

Hell I even forgot what I was going to say about your sweet Stang.

Keep up the great work...:wow:

I feel like that Seinfeld episode when Kramer gets a 3D art image that you have to blurr your eyes to see the image. They are all staring at it but Elaine's boss can't see the image. As for the awesome mustang here, I know there is a car in those pictures but I just can't seem to focus on it, even if I blurr me vision. haha

fvike 06-09-2010 03:35 PM

LOL - the sillplates, front grille moldings, wipers, and interior isn't there. No-one noticed. Hence the chick. Great move hehe.. Did it work on the judges?

HA fooled you huh! lol We did not enter it in the show. We took the car there as an in progress build. I have a space at All Ford Carlisle every year on the Manufacturers Midway where I advertise my restoration and performance business...Christiana Muscle Cars, Inc.

Also a chin spoiler is planned but not installed yet. Like the other missing items we just haven't had the time to get there...

fvike 06-09-2010 05:34 PM

Cool! It looks bitchin' anyways! Is it built on a '70 body with a '69 rear plate? I noticed the vents inside the door pillar, or did you add those?

runningriot 06-09-2010 06:33 PM

I got to see this car at Carlisle. Absolutely sick car! Awesome work!
