Looks like a stock LS7 intake, or do you mean the tubing?

jy211 03-16-2010 12:40 PM

cool color but I'd have run different rims...that's me though.

Bad ass though.

ElkyZO6 03-16-2010 12:40 PM

Looks like a stock LS7.

Here's more info- http://www.detroitspeed.com/news_events/hrr10.htm

Are those marker lights on the front fenders or just reflections from other cars?

Payton King 03-16-2010 01:36 PM

I saw that car at DSE a few weeks ago

when they were finishing the build. The coolest thing on the car to me is the wheel studs. They took ARP studs, put them in a lathe, and they look like bullets coming out of the wheel lugs.

MattG 03-16-2010 03:47 PM

Subtle, but it grows on you fast...

Every time you think you have seen it all in a '69, someone makes it fresh again.

I think we are in the middle of the anti-bling stage, I wonder what DSE will come up with next to wow us!

rjsjea 03-16-2010 05:09 PM

Awesome......great stance, subtle colors etc...

NOVA 03-16-2010 05:23 PM

Nice

Cool car, sits perfect! .... the Color is close to Notorious Nova paint or maybe its the lights? .... what ever happened to the third Gen Nova they were going to build a few years back? I'd like to see them do a late 60's Chevelle too.

Camaroguy 03-16-2010 05:39 PM

Kind of looks like Notorious Nova! As said above!

I meant the intake itself. I didn't realize the stock LS7 unit looked like that. I thought it was more like the LS3 version.
Thanks for the info.

I saw this at DSE the day before they loaded it into the hauler. The amount of details on this thing, like all their cars, would blow your mind. Every time you make a lap around it you see things you didn't notice the first time. The best part is that most of their details are subtle and classy, not smack-you-in-the-face kind of stuff.

The marker lights that were asked about are BMW or Mercedes, I think. Aside from the wheel studs, all of the stainless fasteners you see are machined by DSE. It's got a Nascar-like removable wheel with a special harness and button for the horn. The decklid spoiler is hand fabbed. I could go on for pages, makes me want to mortgage my house and just tell them to build me whatever they want. And the other builds they have going on are just as amazing. Busch's '69 is just nuts, and Stuart's project is off the charts. Can't wait to see that one done.

They are still building it, i think it is kind of on the back burner though because of this, paul alderman and kyle busches car. That nova is BA

Richio1 03-16-2010 06:27 PM

Sssaaaaawwwweeeeeeeeeetttttttt!

Stuart Adams 03-16-2010 06:38 PM

Cool car. Looks like paint that will be awesome in the sun. Looking forward to hopefully seeing it in person. Congrats Mike.

ccracin 03-16-2010 06:43 PM

Saw this at the Hot Rod and Restoration show. Those pictures are just a tease! Unreal amount of detail. I'm on my way to play the lottery.

elitecustombody 03-16-2010 07:04 PM

clean and mean

Tom.A 03-16-2010 09:20 PM

Looks great. DSE is always first class:thumbsup:

tones2SS 03-17-2010 08:12 AM

2 words to describe DSE = KICK ASS!!!
That car looks sharp and I bet it runs like a raped ape and handles like crazy!
I can't wait to see what they got cooking for our buddy Stuart Adams!!! :unibrow:

rocketman 03-17-2010 02:39 PM

needs polished wheels

gearheads78 03-17-2010 03:06 PM

I like everything about it except the wheels need brushed lips. That's my arm chair quarter back input for the day. :D

That's my favorite part about the wheels. The dark lip and bronze center is an epic look. This car is beautiful.

Tyler

Vegas69 03-18-2010 12:18 AM

Everything looks awesome except that stock LS intake. I would NEVER run that thing. I'd hate to park next to a 98 Camaro. Sorry guys.

customcam 03-18-2010 12:51 AM

Todd be straight up man Its the Fikses' :lateral: lol

speedshftr 03-18-2010 04:39 AM

car is sweet but im not into the wheels

Mr.VENGEANCE 03-18-2010 05:40 AM

i think the wheels MAKE the car... its the only thing that is significantly different about the car under than the underpinnings..

Agreed. Custom painted Fikse wheels, very uncommon to see.

I'm a sucker for gray cars, this one rocks.

Tony

fleet 03-18-2010 08:34 AM

What sizes are the wheels and tires?

Payton King 03-18-2010 10:58 AM

The corvette C6Z06 calipers

were painted the same purple/red color as the valve covers. Hard to see in the pics.

335/30/18 and 275/35/18

They updated the pictures. I like the color on the wheels a lot better in the light

I really like what they did with the SS hood grills. Looks high tech. It's stepping away from all the billet accessories look.

Agreed...I throught they were black before

OnEdge 03-20-2010 07:01 PM

I love the subtilness of this car. Not a huge fan of the non polished lip on the wheels but overall it is absolutely stunning. So does anyone have pictures of the 3rd Gen Nova that they are doing. Just curious since I'm building one myself.

Jon69RagTop 03-21-2010 05:46 AM

Love the Wheels

 What do they say "Opinions are like --------, everyone has one".

I really like the wheels, and the lack of shinny bling is just so right for this car. Nice job DSE.

Dayton 03-21-2010 07:43 AM

Love the color.
I used 08 Toyota Tundra gray on my 69.

Patrick 03-21-2010 09:45 AM

I really like the access panel to the sending unit and fuel pump....

customcam 03-21-2010 05:59 PM
