Opinions needed/ Ordering forgelines soon

69 Camaro
Is going to be painted flat black
I know I want the SO3 with a matte black center and titanium hardware but not sure on the lip. I see a lot with the brushed lip but I'm not too crazy about it. What do you guys think about a titanium or gunmetal lip with the matte blk center? Too dark?

I was also considering a red pinstripe. My calipers will be red.

Thanks,
Justin

I like the one with titanium lip

jwalk 03-30-2010 02:15 PM

so do I but do you think it will look too dark on a flat blk car? I don't want them to completely disappear...

6spdcamaro 03-30-2010 02:18 PM

I think if you have polished hardware it will help prevent that. I don't think it will be a problem. The titanium lip will help and the simple 5 spoke design also helps keep it from disappearing. I say go for it

Now I just need to decide on red stripe or not. I plan to have red emblems and calipers. Thought it might look cool...

6spdcamaro 03-30-2010 02:24 PM

I think that may be a little too busy. But its your car so you do what you think will look cool

yeah it might be a little much with the red stripe...here's the best example I could find of a red stripe but its on an all blk wheel...

There's also the brushed nickle that looks pretty nice. It's more expensive but might be worth it.

Any other opinions?

I ordered this wheel from Frank in a matte black face, gloss black lip, electric silver (chrome) stripe with the 3pc. bolts in stainless. Should hopefully have them in a few weeks and can not wait to see how they look! :unibrow:

I like the brushed nickle hoop. I think with the red calipers and emblems the red stripe would be too much. Black centers, brushed hoop, good to go.

Thank you for all the input. Choosing the right wheels is a tough decision. I was going to go with something a lot cheaper but I figured I should just get what I really want now instead of buying 3 sets before I am happy. I'm leaning toward the matte blk center with the brushed nickle outer and the red pinstripe.

Any more opinions/pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few to look at. Rushforths and Forgeline. Both look killer.

Yes sir, they do!!

Man oh man, what I wouldn't do for a set of forgelines. That brushed nickel is a cool option. I think it'll look good even without the pinstripe.

That sounds like a killer choice!

Well I made up my mind. I ordered the SO3 matte blk center, brushed nickle outer, red pinstripe, and titanium hardware. I was going to wait on the pinstripe but I know I will want it eventually so I went for it. They should look pretty sweet.

Thanks Frank for the killer deal.

6spdcamaro 04-08-2010 03:03 PM

That is going to be awesome.

JKnight 04-08-2010 03:06 PM

Yeah, I think the matte black with the brushed nickel is going to be a sweet setup. The ti hardware is a great functional option. Do the Ti bolts look different than the normal ones?
