67 Nova with Alstons front sub , wheel size?
Were doing a 67 Nova and using Alstons front end.
Does anyone know what size front wheels fit on this car . Were using the wilwood 6 piston brakes also. I was thinking a 8" but possibly a 7" any help would be great |
Jason, I got one in here right now. We are running an 18x7 reverse lip (so measures 18x8) with a 215/40/18 tire and a bs of 4.5". Chassisworks recommends up to an 8" wide wheel with 4.5" bs and a tire with an overall height of 25".

18x7's with a 225/40/18. That is what we ran on Jon's 67 with the Alston sub.

Go with Drivers sizes

FYI: 225/35/18 is 24.3 tall with a 9.1" section on a 8" wide wheel. 215/40/18 is 24.7 tall with a 8.7" section on a 8" wide wheel. Really not that much different. |
thanks guys....any idea on the 7" for BS?

Trust me... I'm building Nova #4. |
I've owned 4 66'-67's and will tell you a lot depends on the ride height also. My 67' doesn't have an Alston clip (CPP subframe kit) but I'm running 18x7's up front with 215/40/18's. I adjusted the coilovers down for a slammed stance, for a car show last week and the first bump and turn I had to do, nearly took off my front wheel trim. I'm going to have to raise it up a turn or two. If the car has the wheel trim, I'd stick with a 215. An 8" will fit with the proper BS, but that much less clearance if the car is lowered. Of course Airride would solve most of this...

You could always try calling Chassisworks. I know, why would anyone want to call the people who actually make the parts they're trying to install?
You can run a 8 with 4.5" BS depending on wheel diameter. |
