Help with Wax...

Anybody have any suggestions on a good wax? In the past few years, I have been using a glaze, wondering if I was an idiot for doing that.

I feel like Zaino protects well and lasts but it attracts dust.

Todd.....and that wouldnt have anything to do with the color of your car :)....gotta be the wax.....

I've used Zaino for a long time....got tired of having to order it and wait on shipping etc....its a very nice product, but kind of a hassle....went back to Mequiars

You would think so but I've used another brand in the past and it definitely didn't pick up as much dust. Next time I'll probably just let a pro detailer have at it.

Lol...that's funny right there.

Thanks for the help guys. Your guys' paint jobs all look phenominal, so I figured you guys could help. I used polishing compound yesterday and it turned out really good. Now I need to put a coat of wax on. I've been using Meguiar's products in the past with exception of the glaze. The glaze I used in the past was The Wax Shop, I don't think it did any protecting. My paint was pretty bad yesterday, had like a dirty film on it.

Zaino for me. I guess it helps that its made in my town and is readily available at the local speed shop. Sal also frequents the cruise nights around here too, nice guy, nice toys too!

ADAMS polishes are the best that ive come across IMO. Very easy to use and you get fantastic results.

I'm also a Zanio user.

Give it a clay bar treatment once a year. I have recently started using Mequiars Tech Wax NXT. Easy to use and maintain, doesn't make black trim turn white and man does it make the paint shine. I will see after this summer how long it lasts.

Thanks again for the suggestions guys. I used a polishing compound, and then tonight I used Meguiar's Gold Class liquid wax. It turned out really good, I don't have any pics because we are about to get nailed with some storms. I just got some new SSBC brakes this week that I plan on installing next week. Once I get the brakes done, I plan on getting some pics taken and posted.

Alright guys, this is a little late, but I ended up using a polishing compound and Meguiar's Gold Class Wax and never posting any pics after I got done. I still need to get out and do some better pics, but this was from the Fred Gibbs Memorial Car Show in Illinois.(Only car show I go to, mainly because I meet up with my dad in Iowa).

Ya, same here--the Tech Wax NXT works amazing on my car---people still ask me if I had it painted recently after using it. They're all farily old, but still--

I like the NXT wax from Meguire's too. It is easy on, easy off, and looks good, but it doesn't do a whole lot to protect the car's finish. According to a Mother's rep synthetic waxes don't really leave enough behind to protect any paint finish. If you want any kind of protection, use a carnuba wax.
