The 2010 One Lap of America Route and Tracks - advice appreciated!
Well we have less than 5 days to go before we kick off the 2010 Tire Rack One Lap of America and, based on CamaroAJ's advice in another post, we thought it would be worthwhile to post next weeks planned activities (routes, venues, and distances) as well as show you some of the track maps and layouts with the hope that those of you with familiarity in the area or of the different tracks can give us some advice.
Best case, forum members may have their own advice on the route and the tracks and this might give some insight to people (including ourselves) who are heading to Road America next weekend. Worst case, it gives everyone some idea of what David and I's next week looks like. Regardless please feel free to comment on anything here - highway directions, track suggestions, etc. First off... Anyone else with the inside track? |
James,
I don't have any info on the tracks, but you will be traveling through my part of Pennsylvania to and from NJ. There is a ton of construction on the PA turnpike which is the road you will be traveling from NJ to Nelson Ledges. Use this link for specifics on the construction schedule and traffic. http://www.paturnpike.com/improve/conschedule.aspx On this part of the trip you will be passing within 20 minutes of my house. If you look at your map for day seven, look on PA 76 for New Stanton or Irwin. I am very close to that area. I don't know the rules, but if you have trouble within a couple hours of these locations do not hesitate to call me. 724-five one eight-1 five zero seven. In fact call me anytime in the next week so that I get your number and I will know it's you if you call on the trip. You will also be passing close to RPM Hot Rods (Warrendale, PA), Amsleys Customs and G-Force (Chambersburg, PA). Just to name a few. I'll do what ever I can to help or help find someone that can. My resources are yours. Have a safe and fun journey. |
I also asked on PT.com. How long are you at Hallet? Would love to come and watch and or help if need be.
|
Got your PM Chad - thanks for the assistance.
Mike - we are supposed to arrive at Hallet at 8 am and should be there until around 2:30 to 3:30 before we head to Tulsa for a 5:30 run down the drag strip. Thanks for all the help everyone! we really appreciate it ideas and once we get the route programmed in the GPS I think some options will come to light... |
