"My" Movie on Netflix
 

Okay guys here it is.... 3 years or so ago (eons) I invested in a movie that was going to be made... WELL.... seriously... it was one of those investments that you make and then promptly "forget" because you know it's just "helping someone out"... BUT! Now it's actually been made into a REAL MOVIE!! And will be available on NETFLIX and at video stores... :rofl:

So you all need to order up a copy and make me a zillionaire.... :rofl: :rofl:

Don't ask me if it's any good - I haven't even seen it - but can tell you it's a spaghetti western (my best description).

Scott --- This was not really what I'd even call an "investment" -- this was really (in my mind) a GIFT to an ex partners nephew... and he had approached me with his vision - a business plan - cost breakdowns etc.... and I said "okay".

I never - in my wildest imagination - ever thought it would see the light of day... but by gawd he's stuck it out - and here's the result. I had put additional money into it - after "production" to re-format it in the 16:9 that all the distributors wanted... other than that - you know about as much as I do on it! Seriously. And No -- I don't think I'll ever see dime from it.

When I posted it on here -- it was more a "fun" and informational SHARING - another peek into the life of an idiot... :woot:

Greg, Although you mentioned that there wasnt much involvement on your end but it is kinda cool. The least they can do is put your name in the ending credits:yes:

That's funny -- 'cause I'm thinking the only credit I'll get is if they didn't pay their bills and then they'd be coming after my credit...

Actually - I have no clue how that all works - but I don't think the "investors" get any credit for backing the film. I think we're just checkbooks. This really was a friends and family deal -- not a "big" deal.

I'm not sure its fit for human consumption.... A true Spaghetti Western all the way. I'm thinking (from the trailer I saw a couple years ago) that the acting is like the old Clint Eastwood stuff.... you know -- a lot of mean looks and 3 word sentences... :rofl:

I'm certainly interested. Do you know what festival? I'd look into it for sure.

We pretty much stopped submitting it to festivals after we reached the end of our festival funds, every submission costs. But if we were a shoo-in (or close to), it'd be worth it. Sometimes there are rules at festivals though that could preclude us. They often don't want films that have a distributor already, or weren't finished in the last year and so on. Since we had our festival premiere last June at The Staten Island Film Festival, we might be right on the cusp of eligibility.
