Project "Brain Damage"
This project get's its name because we must have Brain Damage to undertake this! Every once in a while you run across one of those deals that is tough to pass up. A couple years ago I couldn't drag my Dad into the computer age. Well after much resistance he is now an internet "sale" site junkie! Craigslist, ebay, etc. A couple weeks ago he ran across this truck, yep another truck on one of these sites. Well after a lot of phone calls, emails and questions he is now the owner of a 1972 short bed pick-up. We drove 22 hours in 2 days to pick it up and bring it home. This truck is very similar to the project we are already working on. However, it is quite a bit further along than the current project.
Here is a quick description: Complete Art Morrison 2x6 Rail Truck Chassis Triangulated 4-Link 9" Ford with Strange Center Section 3:73 Gears with Posi and Strange Axles IFS Front Wilwood 14" Brakes Custom Metal Dash and Console 20x15 and 18x10 Budnik Tiller Wheels Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR Tires Vintage Air A/C American Autowire Highway 22 Harness Electric life Power Windows Custom Aluminum Fuel Cell 3" Stainless Exhaust Auto Meter Carbon Fiber Gauges This is just a short list of what this truck is all about. Our plan at this point is to try to finish this truck and have it on the road for next summer. I really think it is doable. We will use this truck as a test platform for things that we had questions about. Some of which you guys have seen me ask on Lateral-g. IE. Power vs. Manual Brakes, Painted vs. Un-Painted engine etc. as well as others. We will get it done and have fun with it while it is for sale and we are working on the original truck again. That is unless he gets an offer he can't refuse before then. :D Well enough typing, here are some pictures. I will get more as we get into it more. As always I am open for any and all comments or questions. Enjoy. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...U-must-see.jpg http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...U-must-see.jpg http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...U-must-see.jpg More......... |

Nice looking truck Chad. It has a nice set up for the suspension already on it. Do you already have a drive train picked out for it ?

A Cure For Brain Damage
Looks like we found a cure for Brain Damage! Sell it! LOL The original plan for this truck was to finish it so my Dad could drive it while finishing our original project since this one was further along. We would then sell it to finish financing the original truck. Well, we will not be finishing it. A very good friend of mine bought an extra truck we had from when we started to build our project. He came to pick it up about 2 days after we returned with Project Brain Damage. The whole time he is loading all these rusty original parts he is looking at this truck sitting there. Well this was just before Columbus this year. We went to Columbus and he started talking to vendors about parts to build his truck. After the first day and adding up the cost of his wish list, he says to us "what do you want for that new project?" LOL Apparently his wish list was long and expensive!n Well, the rest is now history. He took home a truck load of parts last night and will be taking the truck home tomorrow. Since he is a good friend I will try to update the build thread as he moves along. He currently has a very nice 34 Chevy Outlaw Bodied Street Rod. He owns a machine shop and I am sure will finish the truck right. So, back to the original project! :woot:

That's good bnews for you and him, but bad news for us. I will miss the progress reports on here. Tell your friend to join if he is not already a member.

Tell him about http://67-72chevytrucks.com. Maybe he will be more interested in a truck specific forum. If not, it going to be back on you to keep us posted...;)
