Congratulations to Doug Renner for having his killer 69 Camaro featured in the August issue of Chevy High Performance. I just got my issue today in the mail and saw the 5 page feature. That's awesome bro! You just got the Muscle Car Machine of the Year finalist award at the GoodGuys event in Pleasanton last weekend so you're really having a great month! It's well deserved. You run your car hard and turn in very respectable times on the AutoX's, plus the car is just bad-ass looking. I definitely look forward to all the mods you have planned for the car in the future! :thumbsup:

I'd also like to say 'thanks' for constantly putting together BBQ's and roadtrips that give us all more great reasons to get together and hang out. :cheers:

The beauty of it all is that he doesn't have to. Who cares what they think about his car, or my car, or anybody's car. The larger gaps can be found between the ears of those fellows, so showing them a magazine will probably have little effect. For every 1 of those guys there are 100 that love Doug's car, and rightfully so. :thumbsup:

Congrats bro... saw you and the guys this weekend at the GG show. I also followed the thread of the road trip up... you guys did it right. I am envious.

I think GG liked it cause I was running it on the Auto X and I was able to keep improving with each pass--like most of us--and clearly the announcer at the Auto X liked the car---It was a very nice surprise for sure---especially since it is so basic---many thanks to Matt and Steve who stuck around till 3:30 when the awards were over to drive the (9 hrs for me-10 hours for them) to get back home.

The fact that the article and the award came about the same time was coincidental. I really appreciate Sean and Henry over at Chevy Hi, they have become friends and are good guys all the way around. Henry found the car through this site--lots of great people here, that, as I mentioned in the article, have become good friends of mine. You guys are the reason I enjoy this hobby/sport so much--it's the reason I have the BBQ's and love to attend the events. Thanks for making it so enjoyable for me--it's great to have something like this site and the events we get to attend together.

I caved---"In the News" is sending me the goods--I'll take a look at it and see if it is worth it. I know a couple of you asked me (via PM's)to scan the article and put it up here, I'll see if I can get that done tomorrow---thanks again guys!
