Year One Experience

This is a great show to attend!!
It will be held on April 21, 22 and 23 2006. Most if not all magazines will be there. So here is your chance to get your car out there in the publics eye's.

Who all is coming to this event?

Brent

MarkM66 12-21-2005 09:14 AM

Is there a link to more info on the event?

I'd like to go, but it's pretty damn far for me.

69Nova 12-21-2005 02:11 PM

I'm going. I plan on taking my car on the road course.

protouring70 12-21-2005 02:26 PM

I hope this works.

Payton King 12-22-2005 06:35 AM

yes

I will be there. With or without my car. I am in Charlotte so it is a 3 hour hop down I-85 for me. Went last year and had a ball.

Ummgawa 12-22-2005 07:10 AM

Us southern Lateral-G guys will have to hook up. I will be there for sure.

RussMS 12-22-2005 08:40 AM

Kindof a toss up at this point. Definately planning to be there at this point.

Smack_talker 12-22-2005 08:53 AM

I'd like to go, if I can get the bugs worked out.

GTmike400 12-22-2005 06:04 PM

Living 45 Minutes away from the track, I will definately be there. I went last year and it was amazing!

69rs 12-25-2005 09:04 PM

I'm about 30 minutes away. I will be there for sure. It was awesome last year! It would be worth a much longer drive. It's much more than a car show.

Bill Howell 12-26-2005 08:16 PM

I will be there as long as it is not the same weekend as the Spring Grand Run here. I believe it is the weekend after the Grand.

Check those dates soon as possible, We will plan to come to PF first, invade you for the week, then head south to YO.

Bill Howell 12-26-2005 08:46 PM

It was the week before last year, I will check on it in the morning.

ProdigyCustoms 12-26-2005 08:48 PM

bad news, I just checked, same weekend.

Mean 69 12-27-2005 11:11 AM

We will have a customer car there, the first Mopar (other than mine, that is) that we will have done. Not sure I or the team will make it, very possibly though. We'll have to get a roster going when the date gets closer.

You can stay here on your way through.

I may still try and may it. However, Grand Run is hard for me to miss, since it is only a block from the house. May just come down Saturday and stay for Sunday.

thanks for the offer I may give you a call when it comes a little closer!

ProdigyCustoms 12-27-2005 03:11 PM

Good News Travis is since Atlanta is such a big airline hub, you should have no problem finding a cheap direct flight

protouring70 12-29-2005 10:02 AM

Distance

Hey the airport is only about 45 min away from Year One and Road Atlanta. Hey rent a car at the airport and give it a try on the roadcoarse!!!!!! Just to see what it is made of. Remember... DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

No, really it was worth going to last year and this year is suppose to be way better.

Bill Howell 12-31-2005 05:22 PM

Thanks to Brent, I was able to find a room close to Road Atlanta. It is a Best Western. Price is $99 a night if you tell them you are with the event. They had 15 rooms left when I called. I reserved a couple extra for you late bloomers.LOL
Their number is 706.654.3081

RussMS 04-03-2006 11:18 AM

Looks like my schedule is clearing up and I will 98% likely be at able to attend. :burnout:

Any get togethers planned etc?

Bill Howell 04-03-2006 12:58 PM

There will be several of us hanging out at the hotel nightly. I think protouring has a dinner planned somewhere close on Saturday night. We are all going to try and park together at the track too.

Payton King 04-04-2006 10:11 AM

I am at the Red Roof Inn in Commerce

I am about 1/2 mile from the drag strip at the red roof inn. I will have 6 guys with me. Bill are you bringing your GTO? I am sure that is a stupid question.

Travis if you want to fly into Charlotte you can ride down with me. You will need to fly in on Thursday and out late sunday or monday. You can stay at my house thursday night and crash in my room for the event. Gotta show some love for another Arkansas boy...

Year One is roping off as big an area as we need for the pro-touring get together. I will be there with a much less four wheel drive Camaro. :unibrow:

Bill Howell 04-04-2006 05:02 PM

I am definately bringing the GTO, Frank is taking it down on Thursday or Friday. I really want to take the malibu too. Hopefully we can work out the logisics. The goat will make some passes at the drag strip, not allowed on the road coarse without a rollbar. The malibu will get abused though, looking forward to that.

69rs 04-05-2006 06:05 PM

Did you check the Year One rules about the rollbar, Bill? I'm sure I saw some 'verts on the track last year. Are you looking at parade laps or open track? Some of the parade laps were over 100 mph last year.

Bill Howell 04-05-2006 06:09 PM

100MPH!!!---That is my kind of parade. I will be there. I am sure no converts without bars will be allowed to do any real track laps. I did not know about the parade though, count me in.

69rs 04-05-2006 06:15 PM

What they call a parade lap is 5-6 cars following a Panoz Race School instructor at the speed that is comfortable with that particular group. No passing allowed.

one+g 04-09-2006 06:38 PM

location

Is the dragracing at commerce and the road course is where? I can stay with family in Hampton, just unsure of locations. The stang is not ready as I hoped but could take out the explorer....NOT. I guess I ll just watch this time.

Bill Howell 04-09-2006 06:49 PM

Road Racing is at Road Atlanta. Hampton is a good ride from either, but if it is free....

one+g 04-10-2006 02:13 PM

road ATL

Yeah, Hamptons a ride I see. Maybe, Ill take off The 21 and ride up with the family. I always kinda do things on the spur of the moment.

Bill Howell 04-15-2006 07:11 PM

We are planning a cruise and then the dinner thing Saturday night. Anyone interested in joining in, just let me know.
Thanks,

protouring70 04-16-2006 06:55 PM

Bill, I am almost 100% sure you will be able to take the GTO out for a spin. Milton took the firehawk out last year and I believe there were other conv. out there as well! Come on and join in on the fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drive:

Bill Howell 04-16-2006 06:57 PM

Oh, trust me, if I can run around a lap, I will. I will be there, and so will the goat.

one+g 04-20-2006 08:10 AM

On the road

I am heading up and will be there in the area tonight. Staying at Holliday In elan Chateau or something. Anyway, see ya there!

RussMS 04-20-2006 08:29 AM

I am bumming a room with relatives in Lawrenceville. Will see ya there.

V8TV 04-20-2006 10:14 AM

See you there

We'll be there Friday afternoon. We'll be shooting all weekend. We're sharing a tent with Royal Purple, so stop by the midway and say hello. The SN65 Mustang will be on hand in our booth area when it's not out thrashing, as well as a couple other cool toys.

See you there!

- Kevin Oeste

SN65 04-20-2006 01:32 PM

It is currently 3:30 PM in chicago and the SN65 is passing through Louisville, KY.

Only about 450 miles to go.
