Some of you might recognize this 68 Camaro.. Tylers former 68 Camaro daily driver! The new owner wanted to do a couple of changes before I ship it out to the East Coast!!

DOOM 08-02-2010 06:26 PM

olds87 08-02-2010 06:31 PM

That going to be one killer ride.

1badchevelle 08-02-2010 07:56 PM

glad to see the "Minor" changes are budget friendly.

Looks to be another great ride.

Ron in SoCal 08-02-2010 08:03 PM

Those header are sweet! The parts list is top notch...

GregWeld 08-02-2010 08:23 PM

Cris.... Can I tell ya sumpthin'? LOL

Nice Camaro... great rendering... and we know you do great work!

Those headers are SWEET!

Okay - big question.... does the car HAVE to match Tylers hair?

Cris@JCG 08-02-2010 08:41 PM

Greg- you are to much! I didn't even think about the color matching Tylers hair..

Sick rendering. Love it.

meenaggie 08-02-2010 09:22 PM

What did you do to get the oil fill cap to sit down low on the valve cover? That piece looks really nice (and so does a lot of the other stuff). I really don't like the stock piece with the cover removed and want something similar for my LS2. Thanks.

Ron Fox 08-02-2010 09:33 PM

Nice rendering. The killer blue paint will go nice with the black wheels.

Sweet project!

waynieZ 08-02-2010 11:13 PM

Those are some killer upgrades.

Teetoe_Jones 08-02-2010 11:28 PM

Wow. I'm stoked to see that car go into one hell of a transformation. :-)

Tyler

Got a chance to see the car this weekend. I was blown away by the work Cris does. Some of the best sheet work I have ever seen. Pics do not do it justice. Can not wait to see this car finished.

Matt@BOS 08-02-2010 11:57 PM

Cris, I don't ever remember you giving me a rundown of the parts list, good god, it has all the right stuff going into it. I'm sure it will turn out great. I'll definitely be watching as this comes together. Now, about the name, I'm not sure I want to know, but is there a story behind it, and if so, can the story be told on a PG rated forum?

Matt

fleetus macmullitz 08-03-2010 12:01 AM

Cris, what body mods will the car get?

bentfab 08-03-2010 09:18 AM

Cris,

I did'nt see anything on the list about plumbing?

Cris@JCG 08-03-2010 09:35 AM

The valve coves are LS7 which you don't fill oil on the valve cover.. so it looks like it is a dummy fill cap that has been epoxyed on..

Matt- Their is a story behind the project name.. but we would figure we would let people make their own asumptions!! Steve R came up with the name.. Ask him the next time you see him @ BOS..

Thanks for the compliments guys!

The owner of this build is just a great guy to work with.. He basically told me to build it as if it were mine.. but want it ASAP!!! So we are going with as many bolt on components with a few custom touches to it.. The 68 will be on East Coast attening as many open track & auto cross events & daily driven!!
When we are done with the car it will get "Pozzi Tuned" before we ship it..

The color is looking like ZR-1 blue.. I want to Thank Ben Hermance for giving me a killer rendering to work with..

Yea, I was at the shop messing with Mary's car and Cris showed me the rendering and asked me to come up with a project name.

Talked about the project, goals and how much work is involved..

so I said (half jokingly) how about project blue balls.. after all, this whole process is an excercise in frustration.. lol

and it just stuck.. it's a bit on the raunchy side, but it does fit..

Oh and Cris.. the backup name I came up with was PROJECT FAT BASTARD since you are doing the widebody kit..

Whatcha think?

Cris@JCG 08-04-2010 08:41 AM

The back up name works for me!

I'm embarrassed... for either name.

fleetus macmullitz 08-04-2010 09:00 AM

It may be taken but I like this for a plate...

BLU BY U

Ron Fox 08-04-2010 11:54 AM

What about the name Project Blue Baron (the opposite of the Red Baron a WWI fighter airplane flown by Manfred Albrecht von Richthofen)?

Yeah -- it's an old Roy Orbison song!

Vegas69 08-04-2010 11:03 PM

Is this what people mean when cars shouldn't have a name unless it means something? I can appreciate it but I'm not sure it will roll of the tounge at Sema or a local car show.

Tell me you just didn't say that..

And if you think about our hobby the name makes perfect sense.. sadly..

By hey.. "Fat Bastard" is a bit more family friendly.. so they have options.

Want me to name your car??? :unibrow:

Vegas69 08-05-2010 08:59 AM

Come shoot this thing and you can call it mildred....:unibrow:

Here is some updates for this week.. Customer wanted to run a booster on the car.. so we got one from DSE but did not like the way they angle up.. so we changed it a bit.. modified the firewall & pedal base to sit mounted on firewall.. wait till you see what I am doing for clutch Master cylinder.. DWG it up to get it machined this week.. Trying to use as many OE components..
