Good Lookin Hot Rod...........
|
|
It's gorgeous!
|
Beautiful car
Will a pencil fit underneath the car ? |
Killer looking car.
I would have liked a fatter rear tire more so than a taller rear tire, but still very nice! |

very nice but that upper radiator hose sticks out like a sore thumb on the engine bay pics. Maybe it was the camera angles but it's very distracting for an otherwise gorgeous engine bay arrangement.
|
Not digging the rear tire but nice machine there
|
It says "Grimes Built" I wonder if that would be Mark Grimes of 80's pro street fame. I know I'm dating myself but if you don't know the name, you should. He was a real trendsetter and a major league car builder in the day. looks like he still has "it". I'd love to see him and Scott Sullivan bust back on the scene with some full-kill P-T cars.
Sorry..... just thinking out loud. |

Those wheels look ridiculous-sorry. Looks like a Hot Wheels car.
|
You know I'm alittle bias towards the birds but you've gotta love the lines on this car along with color and stance. Very well done in my opinion, but everyone will have their own otherwise there would only be one way of doing business eh.;)

Car is very nice and the photographer is A+. I agree about the wheels, the whole big ass wheel thing is played out for me. Best thing I ever did was get rid of those big honking 19's on my car out back.
|
Todd, everyone has their own taste and preference ,some people like the stock 14's,some people like18's,19's, 20's or 22's, some cars are built for track, some as a nice cruiser, obviously this is not a track car, I think this car has a great looking stance and wheels size, though they are lacking some width in rear, maybe a cleaner design, but overall the car looks awesome IMHO .
I'm thinking of building custom 20x13 or 14 for my 69 Firebird and if I ever get around to work on my 71 Cuda, I want to do 22x13. Maybe I shouldn't post pics of my car just because some people like stock wheels? |

john jackson is my favorite photographer by far in the automotive world.
the car is awesome, i love the stance and i still like my big wheels ( i have 22'' on my 67 impala on air.) But the way the wheel well openings are shaped on first gen f-bodys it doesnt seem like big wheels work good on them. however if the car had more dish on the wheel and a fatter tire i think it mightve been able to pull it off with the stance it has. |
I love me some black first gen bird action, but those wheels are atrocious. JHMO, looks like a cartoon. I haven't seen a 1st gen that looks ok with 20's much less 22's, but to each their own.
Of course, I don't like anything that looks hood rich on 22's, that's just me. :P I'm just happy to see a bird getting some love either way tho. |
Two first gens that look ok, imho, w 20's out back are Jackass (I believe stock vette size) and also the other black 69 Camaro w Rushforth's Livewires...

Nice car. I wonder if the owner is a member here but never posts. These comments would be a great way to welcome them to the board...:)

SCHWING, that Firebird is beautiful!!!!!
|
I thought, could be wrong, the whole point of the huge wheels was to make the car look ridiculous. Its also too low imo. I like lowered but people always have to take things to the extreme. Also adds to the ridiculous factor I suppose. EXREMELY NICE BODY and I love Firebirds.
It can be fixed! lol |
Whether I like them or don't like them, my income depends on them, so with that in mind, I guess I am glad that whole "big wheel" thing hasn't totally played out. Roll on!

Not a fan of the wheels but I can appreciate the work it took to get it to this point...
|
The car was built for the owner by Jason"Blinky" Grimes a very accomplished hot rod builder from Louisville..
Thanks for the kind words on the photos we get to work with some amazing builders/owners who do alot of hard work to make us look good.....they deserve all the credit. |
