She's a keeper.

Nick.V70 08-18-2010 11:14 PM

Umm no, the catch is that having a wife that is all good with toys like this is that she always wants her own. She wants a convertible 66'

Yes it's that bad or good, we have matching trucks.... Serious:lol:

Really she is a great wife, you can't hate them I they back you with your ideas and dreams. I love her.:)

I hear you, my Chevelle was bought by my wife. I thought about selling it a while ago and she refused to sell it and did not talk to me for a couple of days. She also paid for my Rushforth wheels.

On a side note how is Brutus?

tones2SS 08-19-2010 10:35 AM

Very nice Nick!
Keep us posted.

Lucky man!! That is awesome Nick!

Nick.V70 08-24-2010 11:44 AM

So Sun am I found a issue and the rear axle housing has to go back. I am out of the game for driving the car to Good Guys this weekend:(

I will post pics of what the problem was as soon as I catch up with work.

Nick.V70 09-01-2010 12:19 PM

Well I got the first kit they said and they did all the test fits but I added a Fab9 with back brace and the coil over spring contacted the axle back brace just enough to call it not drivable. They are cool guys over there and already have the housing back and are changing the brace to clear. Just one of those things with too many options not working together but not the end of the world. I should have it back in another week and going to put her together.

waynieZ 09-02-2010 11:44 AM

Sorry to hear your not making it to GGs. At least you know it will be right when you done.

speedshftr 09-02-2010 05:12 PM

that rear is killer.when money allows i want the same:thumbsup:

Nick.V70 09-15-2010 09:44 PM

Been really busy with work but they called and said it's all figured out and fixed and they also finished the new sway bar I was waiting on but the owner wanted (asked) to use my axle to have powder coated and take pics all together for there catalog and on line pics, I didn't need it back so I said it was cool. Maybe get it next week depending on how things look and then install and take new pics.

Kontrol Phreaks 09-28-2010 06:10 PM

Hey I heard that the guys from Chassisworks still got you into the GG show for free even though your car wasn't ready. That's a kick ass salesman for sure.
You should know as good as anyone, it's always better to hold off and do it the way you want to, the first time. Now you're getting the killer sway bar installed that you really wanted, plus it'll all be powdercoated and assembled when you get it.

Keep us posted on your build progress, especially with that body style getting ever more popular each day, I'm sure the list of followers will increase. I'm sure some of on here, hint hint, will want to go for a ride when you get it all finished up.

Catch ya later

Oh man it's the world famous Sic Clint !! Whats up buddy, yea thank you for getting me into the show on the KP/Chassis Works dime:thumbsup: And yes that was awesome for you guys to powder coat it all now that the sway bar is done. I will be posting pics of it all. Just waiting for the new front end to show up and then we are going to push it over on the lift and have some fun.:woot:

Want to come over and help...your not far away.. You can bring your side kick and we will drink beer and have him work on the car..:unibrow:

Flash68 09-29-2010 01:30 AM

Very cool of them for sure.

You got a nice arsenal of parts there for sure Nick.

Let me know if I can help out with anything if you need an extra unskilled hand. :D

Nick.V70 09-29-2010 09:57 AM

Thanks Dave. What are you looking like this weekend? Mufflers and hang so Carbon Fiber parts on the Chevelle:unibrow:

torino420 09-29-2010 10:13 AM

Nice parts Nick, I'd be happy to lend a hand as well.

Nick.V70 09-29-2010 11:02 AM

You guys are awesome... I am going to set up another 2 post lift in my building next week I hope. I am over working on my back and I have the lift already, just need to set it up and plumb air over to it. You guys are welcome to use the other lift I have here for your car to do anything if you guys come out on the weekend to do alittle car work.

Nick.V70 09-29-2010 11:14 AM

Here is the test fit a few weeks back and what the issue was....

http://www.norcaltruck.com/01_misc_p...0test%2001.JPG

You can see here the coil spring was touching the rear truss, not too big of a deal to fix but not a easy way around other than cutting the truss off and welding a new one in.

http://www.norcaltruck.com/01_misc_p...0test%2002.JPG

http://www.norcaltruck.com/01_misc_p...0test%2003.JPG

These are not the g-Link trailing arms...I didn't have them yet so I used another set I had here to mock the axle up in the car.

Yea working on your back sucks! thanks for the offer on the use of the lift.

Let us know when you get the car ready for the new parts. Weekends would work best for me.

Damn, you guys are crazy!

Since it's not my lift I am subject to your schedule Nick! If that's what it takes I can get there in the morning, but 6am probably is a bit much since I do live in the city and all. I think I am free on Saturday morning..

What time do the gates close for me to get in Sat morning? :D

torino420 09-29-2010 04:41 PM

haha, weekends are too short to be sleeping in :D
...but come 10PM I'm in bed!

tones2SS 09-29-2010 06:44 PM

Good luck this weekend Nick. Keep us posted on your build.

So how's that window of opportunity looking for Saturday? I'm just as excited to see all the rad parts for your Velle as I am swapping my mufflers out! :woot:

Nick.V70 09-30-2010 09:19 PM

Well another couple large box's showed up with the BROWN guy this morning:woot: All the SPC front end is in. I didn't up up the box's all the way but I think the ATX spindles are still on the way.

Dave, I will figure out what I have to do with my wife and kids this weekend and get back to you tomorrow and plan out what time will work to install your mufflers. Talk to you tomorrow:thumbsup: .

It was cool hanging out with you guys. Can't wait to see more of that Chevelle Nick.

Dave, the car sounds even better now, glad the cops didn't "investigate" that noise hehe.

Same here Jason. Fun little "car show" we had, as Nick's neighbor said.

We have to get over there often and get the progress on Nick's Velle movin! Hopefully no more grinder blades decide to jet around the shop at our bodies.

The car was pretty deafening on the way home.. just how I like it. Good thing those cops were pre-occupied!

Nick should be sending me the videos of the festivities any minute. :D
