Random Cars and Coffee pics

I thought I'd share some random pics from Cars and Coffee in Chanhassen, MN. There were some awesome cars there, it was fun taking snapshots.

I had the pleasure to hang out with Chris and his wife, their hospitality was great. If you're a member of Garage Journal, you've probably seen Chris's Garage Condo build thread. It's fantastic to see it in person.

Anyways, here's some random car porn... Sorry for the shadows, it's hard taking car pics so early in the morning. lol

Thanks for posting

Scott,

Great pics and great to finally get your awesome '69 to Cars & Cafe (coffee to you and me).

Thanks for taking the time to bring her up.. I know people were digging it. My friend Marty was talking about it for 2 hours.

I'm sure that a friend of mine, Alex Bellus took some cool shots of your car.. I'll post them up when I see them.

(kind of) Funny aside: the guy driving silver F430 in your 4th pic ran over a curb when he was leaving.. I think he was watching the hot blonde instead of where he should have been going. :wow:

Take it easy,
Chris

Man, I wish I could have been there I was fighting my clear on the cobra. Looked thru the pics and saw a lot of friends made it maybe next month.

that place is sick. I would love to see something like that around here. Any idea what one of those condos run?

Stuart Adams 09-04-2010 09:17 PM

not a cheap investment especially if you see how some of them have been finished off but if you dont have the room on your present home then its definately cheaper then moving

Scott.now I see where you were coming back from yesterday. I was heading to chanhassen to pick up some huge cedar beams for my garage remodel and I saw you on 494 by the airport. I was wondering where all the sweet cars were coming from.have to check that show some time if I can ever get my car out of my huge mess.thanks for the picts. PS. your car looks sweet driving down the road!

Very nice facility. Who owns the Lemans Blue Yenko parked beside you Scott? Was it real?

MaxHarvard 09-05-2010 03:03 PM

I used to live about 1/2 mile from there, nice place to walk around :)

Yes. $105 to $110 a square foot - sheetrocked through primer with in-floor heat, 100 amp service, floor drain in, basic electrical and basic lighting.

At a minimum, the new owner would pay for paint and floor treatment to finish. Most guys go quite a bit beyond that.

Mezzanine, floor coverings up/down, beyond basic electrical and lighting, etc. are additional.

The smallest units are 13'x24' and run about $69K rough.

Lot's of different sized units available as the big buildings are built to support a free span. Some guys have 100x80 units, but they aren't the norm.

Not cheap, but as CDNbowtie pointed out, it's cheaper in many cases than relocating which is what helped us justify the cost.

Nice looking ride. LeMans Blue is hard to beat especially with the black stripes.

How often does this event happen?

Can anyone go?

GregWeld 09-09-2010 08:46 PM

Nice pics Scott!

Wow -- that is some facility! I always wonder about these types of developments... and can't ever understand why people would want to keep their cars somewhere other than at home... but I guess that's just me. I do get it though considering what it cost me to do my "shed" which was far more than these condo deals run... but it's also right out my back door - not a drive in traffic etc.

I can see the developments that have a track included... now that would be a hoot... Too bad I live in the NorthWET where that just doesn't work out so well.

Scott, it happens on the first Saturday of the month. There's another one scheduled for next month I believe.

It looks like anyone can show up, but it's really geared for exotics and euro cars. There were very few domestics and even fewer muscle cars. I was fortunate and Chris had a killer parking spots reserved for both our 69's. Our Camaros stood out like a sore thumb, surrounded in a sea of Porsches and Ferraris. lol

Scott......"sore thumb"......your car got more looks than almost all the other cars. If anyone had a clue about the actual HP and suspension you have I'm sure even more people would of taken a close look at it.

Very much enjoyed hanging with you. Hope you bring it up again. With Labor-day weekend lots of cars didn't show.
