Wish me luck

Well i got an email the other day from my school notifying me about a mechanical engineering internship at Hotchkis Suspension. So i applied for it. Im not sure im far enough along with my schooling to do it, but hey, why not apply and see what happens. Really hoping to get this and get some real hands on experience. I'd be working right along side their cheif engineer. Regardless, who ever gets it is gonna have a great opportunity. Hotchkis is a class act for doing this.

Good luck, just don't be surprised if you are asked to spend a considerable amount of time doing things that are not "engineering work".

Well, I had the interview at Hotchkis today, rather than wednesday as initially said. They are some of the nicest people I have met. John Hotchkis and Henry Hancock (general manager) were incredibly welcoming. I spoke with Henry and he said the only thing he is concerned about is what I had thought, not being far enough along with my schooling. He did however say he is going to see what the engineering department will do. He said out of the interviews he has done so far, I was the only one that really seemed to know about "pro-touring" and that I had a great knowledge of the industry (which i can attribute to this lat-g), I even named dropped this site :unibrow: . He still has a few more interviews to conduct and is going to get back to me in a few weeks. Regardless, a class act group of people over there. I'll also try to post some pics from saturday where they had their camaro car show and open house.

Well I just received an email from Hotchkis today. Unfortunately it wasnt the news I was hoping to hear. I did not get the internship position but they are keeping my resume on file. Like many of you guys said, everything happens for a reason and that is what im thinking as well. Im hoping at a later date further on in my educational pursuits i will be qualified enough to participate in their engineering internship program. However, until then, time to buckle down and hit the books:thumbsup:

waynieZ 10-22-2010 02:49 PM

Stay positive, learn all you can. You'll get a chance to use it.

tones2SS 10-22-2010 02:51 PM

Sorry. But like I say, everything happens for a reason. Just keep hitting the books and your time will come. Stay positive.

LowchevyII 10-22-2010 06:45 PM

thanks guys! definitely gonna keep my head up and nose to the grindstone. really appreciate the encouraging words. I have a feeling the right opportunity will present itself when im ready for it
