Whats the best car show to go to this year

We are planning on skipping SEMA this year ( 4 years in a row is enough fro a couple years) and want to go to a really good show. I have been thinking GoodGuys ............. but which one we are in Vancouver BC so we will take a car or two to the pyuallup or spokane show but the yare one deal looks good what are the best show in the mid west and or south east to go to???

Stuart Adams 01-02-2006 09:50 PM

Goodguys Columbus.

Derek69SS 01-03-2006 07:13 AM

Car Craft Summer Nationals in St. Paul, MN is pretty good

TravisB 01-03-2006 07:33 AM

goodguys indy is pretty good

XcYZ 01-03-2006 07:33 AM

I don't know, Car Craft is decent, but they could sure get a lot more vendors. I believe last year's car count was around 4,000; you'd think they could get some bigger names to show up.

MSRA's Back to the 50's at the MN state fairgrounds (which is a '64 and older show) draws around 11,000 cars a year. Not exactly my cup of tea as far as cars go, but there's A LOT of vendors there.

Year One looks like a lot of fun. Don't know about Goodguys, Columbus yet. I plan on attening that one this year so I'll know more then. Of course, I'm always partial to Autorama but that's an indoor thing that costs a bit of money to get into.

Do you want to show your car or just spectate? Hot Rod Power Tour or Drag Week are good events. I also want to attend Year One Cup in Georgia and Woodward Dream Cruise in Aug in Michigan is a must do for lots of Muscle cars.

Detroit International Auto Show. :P :P ;)

XcYZ 01-03-2006 10:45 AM

I'd like to do Columbus someday... so many things to do, so little vacation time. lol

ProdigyCustoms 01-03-2006 11:36 AM

I think the Year One shows are going to really get strong, stronger then they already are. Great combination of activities.

BC69 01-03-2006 11:51 AM

There is a great cruise in my town. Every thursday during the summer...maybe about 30 cars. The trophies are a good foot tall!! Everyone swears they had a car just like mine...only that there 'Mustang' was blue! ;)

Ummgawa 01-03-2006 01:37 PM

Jim, it isn't at Bristol anymore. It's at Road Atlanta and Atlanta Dragway. Lot's of cool things to do with your car!

I dont think anyone said Hot August Nights, thats always a good show and they limit the size to I think 4000 cars so that way it does not get to big.

rocketman 01-07-2006 01:18 AM

goodguys des moines is a good one,or the street rod nats in louisville ky

JayR 01-07-2006 08:06 PM

I've never seen an indoor or outdoor show that could rival the car quality of Columbus. If they put a roof over the Pro's Pick area only, it would be the best indoor car show in the Country and that area only represents 1/5 of the show.
Hot August Nights used to be good but now you have to tour the whole county to see 200 good cars and the rest is yokels who drag out the same junk every year since the show started. White letter radials are alive and well in Reno!

I really like Des Moines too. Great fairgrounds. I'll probably be there again this year.

no doubt Goodguys columbus its like an orgy with all the best porn stars there lol

sick65 01-14-2006 10:50 PM

Goodguys at Indy...Show is OK, nights at the Adam's mark is wicked. Last year had a kegerator in the parking-lot under our tent that was plugged into the hotel. It was a great time.

Tim Baillie 01-15-2006 01:14 PM

Blake, Good Guys in Seattle is good if your into street rods, been there almost every year for several now but the street machine / muscle car market is kinda slow to go to that show compared to other Good Guy events I have read and about and seen....................

Super Chevy Sunday at SIR has been gone for awhile so there really isn't anything huge in the part of the country...............Seattle Street Rod show is usually pretty good (first weekend of Mar).............we will be heading down to it..............might get a booth there........

Good news, Puyallup GoodGuys is moving up the cut off year to 72 because they expanded the fairgrounds so everyone in driving distance needs to show up so we outnumber the pro street cars!

CAMAROBOY69 01-17-2006 05:25 AM

There is no comparison to Woodward in Detroit. Those that have been there know exactly what I am talking about.

Sales@Dutchboys 01-17-2006 02:56 PM

Columbus Goodguys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

67velle 01-17-2006 05:20 PM

I agree with woodward you get to see so many different cars. They are not always just sitting there . Never go on saturday to busy try friday or thursday!

Roger Poirier 01-27-2006 05:56 PM

Woodward is not a car show, but rather a car event. It is over the top! You have to see it to believe it.

Columbus.

Majik16106 02-02-2006 05:13 PM

i want to start going to that stuff.. but ill wait till i have the car to bring, to me going to those shows without the nice car is like 4play and not getting to finish, it always feels so much better when you have one too. but i am going to the year one experience this year... since its in my backyard
