Am I retarded? There are multiple ties in there? Why is there no way to break those places so there isn't two 7th, 9th, and 11th place finishes?
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Jimi Day and FM3, Cam Douglass and Optima, Bret Vokel and Air Ride, and Todd Gartshore and Baer brakes for making this event possible. I had a fantastic time working the event and will gladly lend my services anytime they need me. Also a big congrats to Mark Stielow; a 20 point lead over 2nd place! Tyler |
Who was Steve Ruiz? Did he run the c5 vette from Stop tech? He got 2 sessions for some reason. Fast car though.

So they gave him another go and he edged in front of Mark.. close race. The autocross with that damn bar killed me.. :( And yea.. Stielow killed it for sure. |

Mark -- I'd offer to trade some tools for some of your talent.... but you've got tools.
Nice job buddy -- seriously nice job! Hard work paid off for sure. That was so kool to have your parents be able to come out too! If my Dad was still here - he'd have gone nuts to be able to do this stuff! Hey! Somebody said you have a GoPro for sale? :D |

Nice job Mark and to all your helpers. For the people who commented on Mark's driving, practice, practice, practice. Notice not only does he drive the " line ", but hits " his " apex and comes out of the corners with alot of speed, accelerating hard using all the track. |

Yes. Give mark another lap and he can probably put down a better time also.

I also would have loved to see Mark get another session, with ABS working this time. |
Many cars got extra runs at the speed stop challenge due to sensor errors as well.

nature of the beast the more laps you get the faster you will go. |

I learned a lot of bad habits AutoXing that I had to unlearned to drive faster and smoother on road courses. Over this summer I relearned how to AutoX. I spend more time in my Camaro this summer AutoXing it than taking it to road courses. In hind sight I should have went back to Gingerman sooner to find the ABS issue. I now have two files in my head - Road Racing and AutoXing. In a AutoX you need to slide and rotate the car. For road racing it is all about maintaining speed and getting off the courners smoothly. To become a better driver go to the track. AutoXing is a great relative safe place to start. The speeds are lower and wear and tear on the vehicle is less than road course driving. In my experience “Driving Schools” are a good basic training and a first exposure to track driving. When I start working with someone to teach them how to drive I like to start out in a low powered good handling car. A slow car emphasizes the correct line, it is all about momentum. Most Pro-Touring cars have big power and a brake and chassis systems that aren’t dialed in. So people are trying to tune the car and learn to drive all at the same time. It is also a large investment that you don’t want to wreck. Time all your lap times you can self teach if you know your lap times. I also use my tachometer to keep track of cornering and straight a way speeds. If you change your line and you pick up 200 rpm at track out you are faster. Have fun be fast.. go to the track. :lateral: Stielow |
