NorCal road trip thread for RTTC II

Now that RTTC II has opened registration, I want to see how many NorCal guys want to get together and cruise down south as a group. I've talked to several guys about it and many sounded interested. Would be a fun thing to do I think if we can coordinate.

I know of a couple guys not on the forums much are in. Anyone else interested, post up here.

And also if you are planning to sign up for 1 day or both.

Greatly looking forward to this event that I missed last year! :woot:

I'm in I will register next week. I will probably pull my big trailer for some track side support if anyone needs to haul extra stuff.

GregWeld 12-01-2010 06:53 AM

Now that I know Rodger is in - I'm out.

I will, for certain - be doing this event once again.... except that I was planning to bring a big baller 2011 S63 AMG Biturbo to the party.... but have now been informed it won't be here 'til MARCH "if I'm lucky". Regardless.... I'll be driving something down so will try to go with the group.

clill 12-01-2010 08:05 AM

Greg you could be driving a 55 Chevy down. Bring a tanker though.

GregWeld 12-01-2010 08:22 AM

Oh gawd.... now that's funny!! :captain:

<Sorry guys -- inside joke here>

Yeah Charley! I'll bet that bad boy can track with the best of 'em!!

EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA

Well you did put new shocks in the BBT. I wonder how it would do on the autocross?

You guys all gunning to make the Friday night dinner?

Rodger-- depending on timing we could roll by your shop on the way down -- you're damn near the 5 right?

BC69 12-01-2010 02:10 PM

I am interested. I should have a car by then, but not sure it will be something Autocross worthy though.

Does this book up quick? If I get something to race, happy to join, but if I dont I am happy to go as a spectator, just dont want to pay the fee yet.

James OLC 12-01-2010 02:44 PM

I'm signed up for both days. We working to finalize details but a cruise south sounds fun!

YEAH.... it sucks to be me....

I just don't want you throwing your food at me and drooling on the tablecloth... and since I'm barely able to sit up at a table... without a booster... and your knees are hitting the bottom of it (the table). I'm afraid you might tip it over and hurt me.

Guys, here is the registration link, be sure to pass it around to anyone that wants to attend. In 28 hours, 48 of the 150 spots have been spoken for so looks like we will sell out fast. I am so looking forward to this event. It was such fun this year and with two days of track time, RTTCII will be twice the fun. Plus, if we can get Doug to do the taco stand again, who knows, maybe Elvis will show up...haha
Charlie, come on down, we promise the autocross is big enough that you will enjoy it. Besides, we need someone semi famous there to fancy up the place..

Anyone know where I can get a conehead hat? I need one for Greg! and yes, I promise pictures once he gets it.....

CRCRFT78 12-01-2010 06:08 PM

I believe I read on PT that there are no spectators allowed unless they're participating, what about volunteers to help out? I want to go but don't have a car ready.

Bill Howell 12-01-2010 06:13 PM

There will be spectators we just can't let it get out of hand. Volunteers are needed and appreciated. Both days we will need help so let me know if you want to come out and help.

Trust me, I want everyone there. IT is the city of Irvine that controls El Toro and we have to play by their rules.

DFRESH 12-01-2010 09:00 PM

The Taco Cart partaaaayyy will be in full swing at my place on Sat night. Bring your own alky---

Doug

Volunteers and pit crews are the "spectator" ways to get in it appears.

I'm sorry, even though you will be staying at my house, you won't be able to attend--unless you build something like the Barbi Dream House that Todd did last year for my daughter. Greg may be able to sponser you in if that doesn't work.

Doug

Vegas69 12-01-2010 10:04 PM

We'll make sure Natalie has a Barbie Dream Mansion for Dave this year.

I think I will be hiding and sleeping in that secret attic room where the gimp used to stay. :_paranoid

clill 12-02-2010 07:32 AM

Is there a pic of Roger and Greg standing side by side ? If not can we get one ?

ironworks 12-02-2010 07:48 AM

We would need a panoramic lense to capture that in true scale.

Not a chance! I'll have to get a handheld!

Good thinking! I better start shopping -- CB shops ain't what they used to be!

10-4

I'm 10-7

96z28ss 12-02-2010 12:57 PM

I had to look up 10-7. means out of service.

I was also shocked to find out the term " that's a 10-4 good buddy" doesn't mean what it once used to. what ever you do don't use the term "good buddy".

Didn't you notice I just said -- 10-4 -- there was no "good buddy" tag.... :_paranoid

I've been doing this for awhile....

DFRESH 12-02-2010 09:03 PM

So does that mean he has not fallen from rockstar status and I got a freebie?

Even better.

Flash68 12-03-2010 02:22 PM

Back to business... for those who have not registered, get on it now! They have cut the entries from 75 to 60 each day so we get more track time. Only 10 spots left on Sat and 20 on Sun as of Bill's post a few minutes ago.

Register now if you want in.

http://www.pro-touring.com/events/rttc2/form.php

Blake Foster 12-03-2010 04:14 PM

we will be leaving the north pole on wednsday AM and be in Redding that night so depending on your schedual and timing i would pull the car out of the trailer and drive the rest of the way, better than driving the truck!!

keep me in the loop.

Bill Howell 12-03-2010 07:04 PM

Thanks guys for the overwhelming response to this event. We are SOLD OUT for Saturday! We do have 17 spots left for Sunday. I can not believe we sold so many spots so quick. May need a three day event next year???
Even got Jackass to sign up, we all know how he loves autocrossing, I may let his run group get extra trips thru the autocross...hahahaha
