Project - Zero Gravity

Well I think we have the rendering where we want it. So here it goes. Our newest project is a 63 Ford Galaxie named "Zero Gravity". The rendering was done by Brian @ www.problemchildkustoms.com.

Theme is long, low and loud. The car will be a big block Ford, Full independant coil over suspension, big brakes, big wheels, using as many Ford Parts as possible. Let me know what you think.

Looks nice - can't wait to see it

Nice rendering and looks like it's gonna be a very cool car.

On a related sidenote:

Frank, Bill, remember this artist? I recall a row of "Problem Child" business cards being set on the windshield of Bill's GTO at SEMA...a car that I designed. That was mighty tactless I thought... :thmbsdwn:

Yeah. I've also had one artist try to steal some of my customers, but at least it was behind my back and not so blatantly rude...I guess it's...less bad. Haha.

That's business for ya!

Wow, big drama in the Kartoonist set.

J2S:
Love the big Ford Sled.
Someday I'd love to have a nice low 60-63 Ford wagon with a modern engine and drivetrain on like 18"s or something as a daily driver.

Kris Horton 01-11-2006 04:30 PM

I hate drama...

Anyway, I noticed the inboard headlights look like sealed composites. Anything on the market to achieve that?

Kris

Nice car! A friend of mine has a 63 1/2 Galaxy sitting in his yard that I often thought about building something like that.

J2SpeedandCustom 01-11-2006 08:27 PM

Thanks everyone! I'm in the process of updating the website with some more pics. The car is currently on the rotisserie and is media blasted. Should have all the suspension and car on the frame table by the end of month. Barrett's has slowed the progress a little...

Kris

We've found a few lights we'll be trying otherwise we'll have to make some custom HID, LED and acrylic ones.

Clint we had the same thought. We've had people ask "why would you do anything to a car like that"? And we answer, "that's why" it will be unique.

The car is sweet I love those car race a lot of them back in the day. they were fast

Steve Chryssos 01-12-2006 03:00 PM

Not a big fan of early Galaxies but I sure do like that car. The front bumper design alone transforms the whole image. Keep us posted.

JohnnyGMachine 01-12-2006 09:57 PM

Hey thanks for posting that. Nice rendering, I always like to see more hand drawn designs. Love to see more, good stuff!

I like the drawing,. However, What is the weight of the car? Can you really get the car that low without using air bags?

Roger weight is going to be around 4000 lbs. The rendering and car are decieving the Front ride height will be 4"-5" and Rear will be 6"-7". We plan on running independant suspension front and rear.
It was amazing how low the car looked when we got it home at stock ride height.

Nice. Keep the pics and updates coming.
