whats your favorite muffler on the market for your muscle car

About to do custom 3" exhaust on my 70 challenger with a 6.1 hemi and I decide what muffler is the best ive always like the flowmaster 40s but i like some magnaflows and borlas. what do you guys prefer with your cars?

Borla.

I have a 3" Magnaflow setup on my LS2 in my Chevelle and I love it. Flowmasters are to tinnie for me.

Spintechs.

I've used Edelbrocks and Hookers Aero Chambers recently and I like booth of them.

Nice low rumble.

I've always done Flowmasters.....but this time I went with Spintechs....car isnt running, so we'll see.....

flowmaster 40 series deltas. regular 40s are too much. the deltas sound really good. i went 50 deltas but may modify them to 40s if they are too quiet.

Go to youtube and listen to as many soundclips as you can. Or listen in person if possible.

I will say I finally heard a setup of Magnaflows that I actually liked. Full 3" exhaust behind a 600hp SBC. Quiet rumble at idle but nasty at WOT.

I prefer in your face loud Spintechs for now. :)

I had the Flowmaster DeltaFlow 40's on my BBC. It had a great rumble at idle but didn't sound so great at WOT. I swamped out for Magnaflows and like the sound a bit better. A little quieter at idle but then sounds a little 'sportier' at WOT if that makes sense. I'm running a 3" exhaust, X-pipe, and 2.5 tail pipes.

I really like my current Hooker aerochambers with the x pipe

Curious. I've heard a bunch of people talking about "loud Spintechs". I'm running them on my build. A bit over 600hp, 11:1 compression, 3" exhaust all the way from the headers, through the X-Pipe, through the tail pipes. It's even a convertible. It gets maybe a little loud at WOT, but not what I'd consider real loud. Mine are the short ones sold by Ram Air Restorations. They're a 12" case built to Ram Air's specs. They're similar to the Sportsman 3000 I believe.

I really like the sound of the Magnaflow's with 3" pipeson my 69 with the LS7.
Reasonably quiet at idle but sounds great at WOT.

I have been through about six exhaust systems on my car over the years with about the same number of mufflers. Just never found anything that was different sounding, but just right. My current system is the one I am finally happy with. It's an x pipe, 2.5" pipes into Dynomax bullets, and tailpipes to the bumper. It's got a rumble, but a clean 60s kinda sound and is very streetable (even though Dynomax says they are not legal). It's also quieter than my flowmaster system. I still have the cutouts on it for track fun. I'll be doing the same system on my Chevelle this year.

magnaflow's

3" full system with H pipe
800+ HP BBC

Love the sound at idle and WOT

i tried the Dynomax VT muffler on the Nova, with 3" and an X pipe i always liked the sound of the dynomax on the 5.0L Mustangs, these have the flapper in them supposed to be quieter at idle and cruise and then open up at WOT but i find them a little too loud at cruise, they have a really good sound to them not a raspy as a Flowmaster and a bit deeper than a magnaflow. i have always liked magnaflow in the past, but i think i am going to change these ones out for a old school Dymomax

Dynomax bullets, x pipe, dumped before the axle. LOUD and NASTY.
