I am looking at either SoffSeal or Metro Moulded for weatherstripping -- anyone have any experience or recommendations? Thanks!

I prefer Metro. I sell alot of it and use it on all our in house projects. I have only had 1 or 2 issues on all the cars we have done

I have to say the quality of the last two sets I got from metro was not very good at all. My issue was appearance more than fitment. One set I actually sent back. On another, I combined the best of two swats to make one good set.

I tried the 'Premium Latex' weatherstripping(no, not the condoms) from Classic Industries(OER) and they did make it much easier to close the doors and windows versus the rubber ones I initially installed, however after about 6 months these Latex ones have started cracking all over the place. My car is kept in a temperature controlled garage so there's no reason for the cracking other than product quality. My guess is that the Latex doesn't like the light stretch necessary to install them and very quickly it starts shearing apart. I can't recommend them. I will probably go back to a quality rubber replacement and just get use to the door slam.

Odd about the cracking... the factory stuff was latex. Have you contacted the manufacturer?

We used Metro on my Dad's '56 Chevy, and it was stiff as hell at first. Once it compressed a bit, no more problems.

Yep, that's what I plan to do next time I visit Classic Industries since it's their product brand(OER). I'll take some pictures and show it to them and see what they say. They've always been good to me there so I'm sure we'll figure something out. Thanks for confirming the Metro product also. :thumbsup:

Godo info. I just redid my 67 and unfortunately was naive and went with OER. what a POS! slamming the doro sucks and only being able to open puching hard from outside.

I am replacing the door seals with SoffSeal, just ordered last week; wish I had seen this post earlier and the info on Metro and Musclerodz as a cool vendor. I will report back on how my re-install goes. :yes:

Last first gen I did was w OER. I didn't like the operation of the doors (slam!). This time around it'll be Metro...

Hehe Iam in on a possible group buy soon for the other project. I have a full OER set I shoudl be shipping back to Classic ;)

I think some vendors shoudl put together a "Winter Project" package for those tearing on their junk in the garage during the cold :D

You'll be fine. In my experience, soffseal is good stuff and metro is no better.

Quick update, installed the door seals form soffseal, and wow what a difference!! The doors actually close nicely, no slam required!! thumbs up. Sorry OER weatherstripping, you suck!
