Well about 3 or 4 months ago i bought a 1967 Camaro from a guy in fort worth. Well Replacing a few nuts and bolts led me to ripping alot of the car apart. Currently the car is sitting apart and im trying to figure out what direction i want to take it.

I need some help with the steps of fixing this car up the way i want it. I stopped last month bc i felt like i was probably going to do things to the car that i would end up having to take back off so in essence wasting my time.

Nice Car:thumbsup:
My opinion is to keep it driving. I would start with the mini tubs, and rear suspension (my choice is DSE) Then put back on the road. Keep upgrading it as you go.
My personal experience is that my car has been in the shop stripped right down, I am not able to drive it because I cannot afford to do everything I want to do all at once.
Just my .02

randy 02-23-2011 02:12 PM

well in order for me to drive it again i need to rewire the entire car. I dont feel like ripping all the wiring out and doing it all over again. Thats my dilemma. Plus i need to smooth the firewall out and in order to do that ill probably have to pull the motor.

[QUOTE=randy;334398]THis is exactly how i want my 67 Then you should have bought a 69:lol: Sorry but I had to, after u posted the photo of a 69. Youll be in good hands around here and many will give you helpful advise.

Can i get some opinions about the G link setup with mini tubs? I understand dse is suppose to be the best but how does it compare to G link and price wise?

youthpastor 02-25-2011 11:03 PM

cool project!

there are lots of options for suspension and subframes out there. I've learned so much from the Lat-G gang.

I am a big fan of DSE, Art Morrison and I really like dealing with the Speedtech boys.

enjoy the process:D

randy 03-01-2011 05:32 PM

what should i expect to pay for a quality 4 link and rear end setup? Should i go with the 12 bolt gm or 9" ford? why one over the other? sorry im a newb when it comes to this type of stuff

Good progress.

It's your car, but a painted to match front spoiler never looks good.

i started to think about this. with the texture and the likely chance of scraping it off the road i decided to leave it black. Thank you

I stole this picture from another member and added some flavor to it. I added rs headlights, cowl hood, tinted windows, front and rear spoiler, and black stripes

Car is sitting on the ground now. Only sheet metal left is the roof. DSE quadralink is installed. Really debating about what to do to the front end. My subframe needs some work and i really dont have 7k to blow on a dse front end right now. This project added up quick lol

Im also looking for billet tails and a billet gas cap and hopefully i can buy it all in the same place.

dse is $1150. My builder said he had some problems before with the ricks tanks.

I want this tucked look. Is this possible with the stock front subframe? Can it be done with 18" rims all the way around or do i need to go 19s or 20s?

Man i really need to update this. Tuesday ill post some latest pictures of it. Car is pretty much ready for paint. Im just trying to make sure its done right the first time around. Man this cost alot more money than i thought but the cars sheet metal and body will be perfect.

randy 03-28-2012 01:57 PM

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...sesubframe.jpg

Sorry guys i havent been on in a long time. Body wise the car is ready to go. Just needs paint. I just ordered this subframe yesterday. unfortunately this took a huge chuck of change and progress will be going much slower now. Not to mention my wife told me 3 weeks ago we are expecting out first child.

another thing i just bought was my tank http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...orWorxTank.jpg

new camaro fuel pump, notched corners, and good for plenty of HP

randy 03-28-2012 02:04 PM

Will post pictures whenever i get all of my goodies instead of internet pictures. THank you matt at MCB.

Im going to have to hold off for awhile buying any major parts since i just spent alot and we have a child on the way. I plan on bringing the car back to my house so i can work on it myself. Major body work is done. My question is we still have to prime it, paint it and assemble and i need progress to go much slower now so i can save money. At what point sould i have my builder get the car too so that i can start putting parts on whenever i have extra time and money? Should i have him just prime it, paint underneath and the firewall, or what? I dont really want him painting the door jams or the firewall until i completely put the car together so that i know for sure that everything that i want to add is done and fits. I dont want any cutting on any areas already painted.

Im just looking for some overall advice.

I have 19s and with my car super low the tire rubs. 20s would definitely rub

im 90% sticking with 18's.

Check page 14 or 15 of my project thread and you can see how my 19" wheel is barely fitting. The car has to be raised to be driven.

If I had to do it again I would do 18 since I like my car LOW

Yup i want my car real low too. The lowest i can get it. The rear is going to be 18x12 and i know i can fit a 18x10 in the front but im wondering if that would be the best setup for my car. Either a 18x10 with 275/35/18 or 18x9 with 255/40/18

John510 03-29-2012 04:52 PM

I did a 9 in the front so it would tuck. I don't have my fender on yet so I couldn't tell ya how much clearance I have.
