fair market price/value for this PT camaro?

Looking hard at this one, but what in your opinion is a fair price to pay for this?

Looks like a pretty nice car, and has a good start on a parts list.

I'd probably pay $30k if it's everything it says it is and is as clean and straight.

Not a fan of the 10 bolt back there.

rjsjea 03-06-2011 10:28 AM

I dont know man, I wouldn't buy a resorted car without seeing it first. Or unless you knew who you were buying it from.

JNS 03-06-2011 10:29 AM

yea, the 10 bolt makes me scratch my head.

I wouldnt give him a dime until I checked it out myself

Agree on the 10 bolt, but if one were looking for a nut and bolt restore to start PT mods on, you'd be hard pressed to do it yourself for less than $30k. Having said that, the market prob drives this car right in at $30k. Would the seller part w it for that? Who knows...

JNS 03-06-2011 10:34 AM

he is asking $42,000 I agree on low 30's value so we are quite a bit aways.

Flash68 03-06-2011 10:52 AM

Not surprised at all by the 42k ask.... it is a dealer after all.

For comparision, I had this one saved in my watch list:

No reason really. I just dig first gen Camaros and like to keep my finger on the pulse of the market. Also I'm a glutten for punishment when I see completed cars selling for what I've got in body work alone...:willy:

If you like the white one, keep your eyes out for something more closely aligned with your style and sooner or later it'll pop. I think the middle end of the market is still soft so you can afford to wait for the right deal. Send me a PM if I can help at all...

ELVIS_PRESLEY 03-07-2011 12:31 PM

Garickman has a car for sale that would be much better than this one in the for sale section. It needs paint and final assembly but it's a much better car for the same money if you ask me.

Rybar 03-07-2011 12:43 PM

I personally think for $30k your getting a pretty good deal. Even at $35k. Yeah, it doesn't have top shelf parts. But no way could you build the same car for even close to $30k.

moparnate 03-07-2011 03:49 PM

i agree, no way you could build it for 30,000 unless you do the body and paint yourself, I think its worth easily 35,000. my bodyshop bill for paint and alot of metal work could have bought me a nice finished car.

ELVIS_PRESLEY 03-07-2011 07:52 PM

For sure worth $30K...but not $42K like the guy was asking.

awr68 03-07-2011 08:50 PM

I like the look of that white one!
It reminds me of one that was in CP YEARS ago...like 10 years ago.

Flash68 03-07-2011 10:10 PM

Wow. Someone paid almost $41k for it... wonder if they saw it in person first. :_paranoid

Vegas69 03-07-2011 10:14 PM

$5, until I laid my own eyes on it. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER:D buy a 42 year old car without touching and inspecting the car myself!

dropit69 03-07-2011 10:43 PM

What about this one..looks nice and price just lowered to 36k with a trailer..and nice list of pt stuff...its on this site too ...

I'm pretty sure it's the same car. I remember it from Northern California about 10 years ago. It was a nice car back then and looks like it still is. The guys over at Team Camaro should know all about this one.

awr68 03-08-2011 04:10 PM

I remember the guy (kid at the time?) worked at a body shop and his boss helped him restore it...I would like to think it is a nicely done solid car! I have always like the look of it.
