Muttstang runs 10.94@132mph.
Took my Mustang to the track today, still a little cold hear in Maryland so it wasn't real crowded, I got to make twenty passes. Was the maiden voyage for the clutchless 4 speed I put in, and it took several passes to master shifting it.
The car wouldn't hook at all. Spun through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears was really fun ride, Even with the granny launch, the car managed to pull off a 10.94@ 132mph. The reguar Bfg's just weren't making it. If I could of gotten some slicks, or possibly some drag radials, I really think the old girl had a 10. 4 in it. It still kind of amazes me that a prodution engine, LS7 can make that kind power, with nothing more then a cam and headers. A buddy took a bunch of video, I'll post it once he gets it uploaded. Ron |
Those are killer numbers Ron. What is the weight of the car as it sits right now?
Its about 3250lbs with out the driver
Damn that's a cool car Ron. I wish I could make it back to RTTH's to get a ride.
wow 10's is fast man, thats impressive...
wow
DANG !!!!!:wow:
THATS STRONG CONGRATS LOVE THE BUILD TOM |
Man that's impressive! I had to go look up your build after reading this. Nice car.
freaking awesome. love that car
thats impressive numbers...i have a C6 Z06 and even on my best day couldnt touch those numbers...and your saying this is just cam and headers? no headwork? impressive...at 3200lbs is about the same weight as a C6Z give or take 75 pounds or so. Id shoehorn one of those in my old fastback but i think the end results is it would twist the unibody all to hell
Niiice!!! That's a hulluva MPH!!!
congrats! |
Man, I need to hit the drag strip.. the curiosity is killin' me.. lol
Nice runs.. gotta love a car that handles running 10s.. |
Whew that's impressive. That car is like a swiss army knife of fun. lol

I have to say its harder then you think to run 10's on KDW's, you almost have to idle out of the gate, and feather the throttle at the shifts. My first couple passes, the car was all over the track, it was like driving on ice, at one point I thought clutch was slipping, but it was just roasting the tires in 4th at about 120mph. My buddy Mark took this video, and the pics, the Roadrunner getting spanked is my Buddy Mike.

Very nice. Great numbers.
Wow that's great for street tires!!! Gotta get some slicks and really see what it can do! Nice job
Bad ass man. True all around performer right there!
Love that car! Killer all around performance.
Awesome! I have to get out the strip when the weather warms up a little more. Like Steve, the curiosity is killing me.
:hail: :wow: need i say more....
It would be hard to put sticky tire on this car because of the huge brakes, and wheel fitment issues. Hers another video.

shine up that boat anchor and we're on... lol |
Hell yes, I'm in man. I think Ron has us whipped. Impressive....

Hey, at least it sounded tough.. you, I, and Ron are in the same boat.. the winner is the guy that can scrape up enough tracktion.. time to shop for drag radials. That's what I love at pro-touring cars.. it's easier for us to go drag racing than for a drag car to handle. |
Drag radial would be cheating Steve.LOL. Actually I wish I had some. My 60 foots were a joke. One of my passes was 132mph, that mph should put the car around 10.3 or 4. I made 20 passes on Sat., it took me at least 5 passes to learn how to shift the new trans, and another 3 to learn how to pull out under almost no throttle, then bust it. Man was it fun though.
100lbs per tenth right? I think you both have 3.5 tenths on me before I show up. My girl needs to start working out. :D
She is a pretty thing though, for that you can put up with a few extra pounds. Mine doesn't shave her legs, and isn't built for comfort. Ron

Right now the car launches great.. was fun at the RTTC event. I'm wantin' some VHT. In July we're having a magazine/mfg grudge match drag deal at Fontana.. Thinking of having Forgeline make me up some skinnies for the front. Love your car and it just keeps getting better.. you staying under that $5k budget?? :_paranoid |

Advise: WAY STICKIER TIRES
Oops, sorry. I meant for Bad Penny, he can adjust the upper link on the rear suspension to increase A/S.
That is a REALLY impressive time on road race street tires. Right up there with the supercars, which is exactly where one would expect it to be. Well done. Mark |
I knew you were talking to Steve, my advice applies to all of us though. Get stickier tires or learn to ice skate.
