Rushforth Battery Wheels

Has anyone bought a set of Rushforth Battery Wheels yet? If so, please post photo's on and off the car if available.

Thanks.

JayR 03-24-2011 09:46 AM

They're brand new, Ron so nobody has a set. You could be the first one here? Ready to be a pioneer?

Ron Fox 03-24-2011 06:54 PM

Very nice, aggressive looking wheel, Jason.

I have been waiting for you to design a wheel like the Battery. This wheel would look killer on a certain '69 Bird with the correct stance.

I am not at the point where I need to pick wheels but I have narrowed it down to 2 different wheels and companies. Well, make it 3 different wheels now after seeing your Battery wheel. :faint:

Do you have any photo's of the Battery you could post please? I would like to see a closer look at the center cap. Does the cap come off?

Thanks, and keep up the good design work!

Glad to have a horse in the race, Ron. Thank You. I'll get you some pics of them posted but like I said, they are brand new. For reference, the lug recess and centercap is identical to most of our designs and the centercaps are removable and held in by an o-ring like most 2 piece wheels. Here's a close up of a Trooper which is similar in design and identical in lug recess and cap detail.

Jason, you are definitely in the race.

Is the Battery a 3 piece wheel? Is there a small recessed section on each of the spokes? (It's difficult to tell on the website).

Can't wait to see the pics.

Thanks.

DOOM 03-26-2011 07:44 AM

Ron did you take a look at BOZE FORGE?

Hi Ron,

PM me with your email address and I'll shoot you over a large size rendering of the Battery. I am very fond of this wheel myself. I'll be going with the Battery or the Trooper on my 70 Z28. I'm measuring for back space in the next few weeks and will make up my mind. I maybe the one to Jump and be the first to order the Battery.

Sorry for the late reply, Ron. We were doing a booth at the GoodGuys show in Pleasanton, CA over the weekend and just got back in the office today.

Like all of our wheels, they are available in 2 or 3 piece construction and with or without perimeter hardware. Yes, there is a short groove coming off of the lugnut.

Ron Fox 04-27-2011 11:42 AM

Sorry for the late response. I had to attend to a family matter for the past 4 1/2 weeks and still trying to tie up loose ends.

Doom, yes I have looked at Boze Forged and the Boost is on my top 3 list. It gets more difficult with each new wheel introduced to the public. But someone once said, "always go with the first wheel I liked even if I liked other wheels after that." So we'll see what happens. I do wish I could see the wheels in person instead of online or in print. I have seen the Boost in person at my local Good Guys Show.

Ron, PM sent. Did you go with the Battery?

Jason, thanks for the info. Would love to see any Battery photo's. Any Battery wheels sold yet?

Thanks.

Ron Fox 04-27-2011 02:31 PM

Hey Jason could you make it to our Good Guys Show here in TN and set up or is it too far from WA? Would love to see the Battery (and now the Trooper) in person.

JayR 04-28-2011 12:00 PM

We're doing a bunch of Good Guys shows this year but we won't be in Nashville next month although a bunch of our clients will so keep your eyes open. I predict a bunch taking part in the autocross so you can see them getting abused! Seeing a handful of styles on a variety of cars should hopefully tell you if you think we make a good looking product or not so hopefully that gives you the assurance you need.

You can still be an early adopter and get something only a few folks have gotten so far.

Here's one of the first sets of Battery centers fresh from powdercoat ready to get welded into the hoops. Should have finished pics in a day or two.

Those look good Jason!

Ron Fox 04-29-2011 02:09 PM

Nice Jason. Can't wait to see the finished wheel.

There were several cars at last years Nashville Good Guys Show supporting Rushforth shoes. I like what I saw.

Thanks for the photo's.

GregWeld 05-01-2011 09:58 PM

Nice Jason!

Hey -- will those fit my Nomad? You finally made a wheel for "ME". :D

That's great to hear. With another year under our belt and no floods this year (fingers crossed) there should be even more to see at the show this time.

I got your Nomad wheels, Buddy!

Ron Fox 05-02-2011 10:08 PM

Jason, there should be more Rushforth wheels here in Nashville at the GG show this year. I will be looking for them.

I never want to see a flood like we had last May. Unbelievable sight seeing water running through the city of Nashville and over and around the Tennessee Titans Stadium.

Greg, when you have time please post a photo or two of your Nomad. I have never seen it and I have heard a lot of good compliments about her.

Thanks.

Ron -- It's just an old hot rod I've had for many many years now... nothing anyone on Lat G would be interested in. :D

PM you're email and I'll send you pics that way if you want 'em.

PM sent.

Thanks.

Ron Fox 05-04-2011 09:42 AM

Greg, thanks for the pics.

You have a very nice, clean looking ride. The stacks are cool. Nice color. If I was wealthy a Mod Nomad would be in my collection. What kind of condition was it in when you bought her?

Well -- we're jacking the thread here - but it was a done body on a stock chassis. The paint and bodywork was a whopping $6000.....

Remember -- When I bought this car - these sold "done" for 30 or 35 Grand... nobody was doing a 25K paint job on cars like this. So it's a nice quality driver that I can mess with - drive all summer - tear apart - change/add... and eventually it will get a complete body off re-do.

Nice car but a set of Rushforth's would make it look killer.

Wish I knew someone local that could figure out the offset I need..... :unibrow: :D

skatinjay27 05-09-2011 02:13 PM

Your car's too big for 17s in front. 18s and 19s! When do you want me to come up? :D

I wish we were big enough to get that kind of saturation! Don't worry, we're too small to get played out but I appreciate the sentiment!

Thanks for the pics.

Has anyone purchised a set of Battery wheels yet?

DriverzInc 05-20-2011 02:27 PM

We took an order for a set this week, we'll post pictures as soon as we get them in! :woot:

Hey Ron, Here are a couple of pics of my '68 with the Rushforth Troopers. They have the new black diamond finish and get compliments everywhere I go.
Good luck in your wheel search!

There's been a few sets but the ones I posted pics of are the first ones built. I should have pics of them on the Camaro any day now.

Smoked Titanium in the shade and a slightly manipulated photo so they look darker than they really are.

Bad94 07-12-2011 08:14 PM

wonder what those would look like all black on a tan car?
