Brright orange License Plate WATALFE on a Lamborghini....
Just breaking in the drivetrain on the R1 Mini again and came across this guy. I typically dislike lambos and their owners even more. They are car jewelry.
This guy was no exception, His custom plate said "WATALFE" and had a lambo hat on. I couldn't let him be the only one with a 9k rpm on the highway so I said hi the way performance cars do. Then just drove up to pasadena.. Love that drive. So many tunnels and its an old freeway, Cruises along at 70 at 6509k RPM and temps stay below 180l |
Why would you dislike someone just for owning a Lambo?? That's as bad as the Lambo guy looking down on you because you drive an "old car"... Does that mean you dislike SW?
But I digress.. is that a GoPro? Pretty cool on the windshield like that, like a cop's dash cam. lol |
i wish i could see how that looks from the road!
what do those carts usually do in the 1/4 with that engine swap? it looks quick! |
Rockin out to Danzig. Nice!

It is a gopro, Honestly a quality point and shoot camera has better audio, video, color, and HD. I am disappointed how muffled and off the sound is. That car is LOUD, yet you can't tell. I will be limiting the gopro to RC car usage and situations where I need durability. I'll be seeking out a new point and shoot for car footage. The Canon Powershot series has been solid for me. I've had them since 1 megapixel and continue to upgrade. The new Canon Powershot Elph SD4500. Every mount available for a gopro is available for point and shoots, just not readily marketed. http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews...-is/11496.html The gopro will be used on my quadcopter mostly. I made this the other day and may start shooting in between sessions at trackdays. |

This is what they sound like. I have 3" exhaust though. Will get some soon. |

The Canon takes great video!!

"Clean up my act or stop posting" would probably apply to you starting this judgmental thread in the first place.

Doesn't make them "lesser" in the hobby .. so I wasn't picking on you, just trying to make a larger point. Personally I think the Lambo is a big bucket of Awsome Sauce.. p.s. you could probley make side money at track days with the quadcopter and the camera.. would be epic footage. |
I hate people that have more money than me and SEEM to enjoy their life. END THREAD
|
^^^^^^^^^^ agree with those thoughts.... everybody gets a different 'joy' from various facets of the hobby.
Personally - I've never seen a car - or an enthusiast I didn't enjoy. Not everyone can afford the best of the best... or custom built... and not everyone loves perfect paint... or tracking their car. It is what it is. How big is that chip on your shoulder? |

I would only buy one if I could also afford one of the nice twin turbo packages for them at the same time. |

I plan to do all sorts of things with quadcopters. Got a new frame on the way for more stable flight and 3 axis camera stabilization. I'd like to be able to keep up with a car down the main straight of big willow. Check this out. Quads are capable of incredible speeds and nimble, with a friend operating the camera or just leaving it pointed down at an angle It'd give us all GT cup style footage. Even hovering at one chicane or corner would shoot some amazing footage. Once you get to a location you can let off the sticks and it'll hold position... |

I love my cars, but they don't make up the majority of my happyness in life. Add to the fact that a Gallardo is a status symbol and there you go. I found humor in it, thought the guy was a douche, and thought itd be funny to rev a 1970 Mini to 12k on him. To the people around us, it probably was funny. Instead this threads turned into a total turd. |

So Dane, was that the 101 you were on going through that tunnel section in the 2nd video?
The car sounds amazing---remind me what you did for a motor in it again? It seems like from the video it's got serious acceleration--- D Redneck Fresh |

Does it have a Yamaha R1 motor in it?

Wow that's crazy cool!
I had a 2000 R1...those motors got nuts!! |
That engine setup is pretty damn cool.. would love to drive it.. I bet it's "zippy".. lol
|
Hey Dane, I have never been able to get a good in car video of anything I've ever done. My GoPro vids skip and so I bought and down loaded a video format conversion program but that computer crashed. Can you help me out? Any recomendations?
|
That Mini is very cool! I've seen projects all over the net with Busa and R1 engines but never one completed and that nice. What do you do for reverse?
Side note, I am a very dry, sarcastic SOB. I have to be veeeery careful on the interweb because that shizz never seems to come through as joking. I always end up trying to 'esplain myself if I try to get too funny in a comment. Jeff- |

Keep us updated on the quadcopter. I was googling them the other day and there is a guy out there who has a HUGE one with a dSLR attached. I'm planning on making one after I finish my firebird project. |

http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qbe35g I have a push pull lever on the shifter. Basically if I was stupid enough I could do 120mph in reverse. |
