And the BIG GM BUS WENT FOR $$$$????

Anyone see Charlie around it :)

Saw Bob Johnson in the crowd..

That bus is HUGE.. crazy big.. Nice ZL1 being done now.. the Bus is next up..

what will it bring.. my guess is $500k (cause I really have no idea)

Van B 01-21-2006 06:48 PM

I was standing at the Meguiars tent today and they were having a little radio type show. The guy there said the owner of the bus was looking for just that, $500k.

Bill Howell 01-21-2006 06:50 PM

Not yet Steve, coming up soon. Saw Charley earlier when the LS6 convert chevelle sold for 1,150,000. Bob is sitting on the front row.

Steve1968LS2 01-21-2006 07:07 PM

Good money for the Foose car.. $250k... more than list price..

I noticed it had the new DSE Closeout on it :)

Bill-
Was that your evil twin selling the Elvis Limo? :lolhit:

Bill Howell 01-21-2006 10:20 PM

Believe it or not, the limo came from here in Sevier County,Tn. There has been several articles about it in the local paper about going to the auction. The guy in the red, white and blue shirt and overalls was the owner. Damn hillbillys...with that much new found money, maybe he can get a new double wide....

Seriously, he has had it a long time, I saw it at the Flamingo in Vegas last year. I am sure he is happy with the results.

Tim Baillie 01-21-2006 10:30 PM

Something happened and the final bid didn't stick later, so the bald guy got it for 4 million...................not sure, Craig made an announcement that it had changed...........

907rs 01-21-2006 10:36 PM

I guess Charley could always buy a new one.........

I saw one of those buses on one of those Extreme RV's shows on the Travel channel, the guy had made it into an RV. It has dual tires at all four corners and I believe they said that it got 3-4 miles per gallon.

Todds69 01-22-2006 07:47 AM

Anybody have a lot # for the bus or a pic? I got to see a $4M bus.

Todds69 01-22-2006 07:55 AM

Wow, that's a lot of jingle for a bus...thanks for the pic.

MODO Innovations 01-22-2006 08:11 AM

What a coincidence, I am making a set of pedals for the '06 Prevost luxury tour buses owned and leased by All Access Coach Leasing. My brother-in-law is part owner in theis company. So I guess this is one of those "brother-in-law" deals....
http://allaccesscoach.com/

This is the only way to travel (if you have a driver). We took one from our house to Tennesse last spring. We left at about 9pm and woke up in Tenn. at about 9:30am the next day.

The red one on his home page is the one he drove home at Christmas.
All of his Prevost buses have flat panel tv's that fold down in the bunks and huge ones in the lounges(one in the front and one in the back. I think I counted 13 in all.

This could be the next thing we may all want when we reach retirement.
An all bus Power Tour 2032. LOL

dookie 01-22-2006 08:12 AM

the money bus

watching that ,i just cant help but wondering what some of those guys do for a living , or where the found there good fortune that makes it possible to go and shell out that kind of money to only use it for upcoming events , anytime i make anykind of purchase im thinking i hope that i will get most of my money back out of it , am i mistaken or was that a woman that was bidding on that thing also>>>???

96z28ss 01-22-2006 03:48 PM

I bet there will be a GM Bus at next years Barrett Jackson with the money this one has just sold for, maybe even 2 buses.

Stuart Adams 01-22-2006 03:53 PM

The bus was bought by Ron Pratt. He is the guy that bought 52 cars last year, including Chezoom and Whatthehey. Friend of Steve Sandlin, had some of his cars at the SEMA party. Cool.

Autokraft 01-22-2006 04:07 PM

Maybe Ron could be so kind as to host next years Later-G party "inside the bus" while cruisin the strip. :willy:

those cars & buses  were bring top dollar

race-rodz 01-22-2006 09:34 PM

with a bank roll like that...makes me wonder if there is some kinda relation to the Pratt in Pratt & Whitney jet engines, i mean how many billions of dollars do you have to have to throw around millions on your hobby? all i know is that guy needs to addopt me to keep his collection dust free :unibrow:

Blown353 01-24-2006 04:02 PM

Can anyone confirm this: A friend of mine who went to B-J and bought two cars claimed that the high bidder on the Futureliner tried to back out and didn't want to pay, claiming he was inebriated at the time of bidding.

XcYZ 01-24-2006 04:29 PM

I heard there was confusion on who was actually bidding and who the auctioneer was taking bids from... something along the lines that the auctioneer kept raising the price even though there were no counter bids being made. You probably remember the 'announcement' made some time later by Craig Jackson stating the selling price was reduced. I believe that was the direct result of being confronted about what happened with the auctioneer.

jimbo 01-24-2006 04:37 PM

A short time after the bus went, the bald guy in the white shirt was having some words with Craig Jackson down in front of the stage. He didnt look very happy. After about ten minutes of discussion they both walked towards the back of the arena. Dont know where they went.

I believe that was Mr. Platt and he ended up with the bus.

Ummgawa 01-24-2006 05:19 PM

If its any consolation, I went to Vegas one time in a 100,000.00 car and came home in a 500,000.00 bus.

96z28ss 01-24-2006 07:35 PM

If there was a problem with the bidding, what did the bus really sell for.
I'd be furious also if I was bidding against myself. With all the people inside the tent I'm sure it must happen often. It must get confusing in there.

The bus went for 4,000,000 rather than 4,100,000 that was originally announced.

If you'd get furious bidding against yourself you better stay away from auctions..you're probably being shilled by the auctioneer, or bid up by the owner or a friend over half the time..except at Barrett..you see them backing a bid down blaming it on something..usually just bid it too fast and got it off the money..

Bill don't you know Mark Kirkendall..he's the guy that owned the Elvis limo..I don't think he was disappointed but he sure wasn't elated. The Buick of Howard Hughes sold for over a million and I thought the Lincoln should do more..It had the air filtration that Hughes Buick had..plus it was much nicer and I think Elvis is bigger than ol Howard..Mark also had his brief case and watch..I told him to snatch his wig hat off his head and throw it on the floor and toss it in saying it was Elvis'es. Mark also owns a Jet Star that belonged to Elvis. Howard Hughes was the biggest tax payer in Cobb County here in Georgia for years..he had 2 new Jet stars hangared at Lockheed..sat there for 20 years or so..eating up cash like crazy..now you can't even fly them due to fuel cost and noise levels..

Bill Howell 01-27-2006 09:06 AM

The Hughes car sold last year. Yeah, Mark is a local boy, but a national player in the market for sure, has a bunch at Floyd's place and deals in some NICE cars. I like the lightweight Pontiac he has/had.
