Who's got the guts to do this job?
I was scared just watching that. When the worker started to free climb the angled braces at the top of the tower, I clicked out of the video. Wow!
My palms were sweaty just watching that. :_paranoid I hope those guys have a parachute strapped on thier backs just in case. Wow, man that is scary stuff. :wow:
no way!!
I turned the sound all the way down on the clip and listened to this. Seemed appropriate. The camera even moved to the beat...
I'm going to have nightmares.
More like it's a long way to the bottom
Wonder if they wear parachutes?
That's nuts. I wonder if they get paid in relationship to the height/risk of the tower?
The first 1600' looked pretty easy.;)
Pardon my language, but f_ck that. I got vertigo just watching the clip. Unreal. :wow:
My buddy does that for a living. His freaking legs are like tree trunks. Its not the heights that bothers him its the weather. Freezing rain and 40mph winds are no joke when you dont have any shelter

After the first 6' its all relative. Agreed, exposure to the weather is by far worse on a climb than on the ground. You are exposed with no where to hide and no way to quickly get down. The only other thing worse is having to take a dump. Try to imagine that strapped to a tower when you have the runs and no TP. Or people on the ground wondering where the rain sprinkles are coming from on a clear day. |

I was wondering about the chutes as well? Do they have to climb back to the elevator, or do they rappel? Quote:
Glad there are people with the balls to do that chit! I'll stick to getting shot at occasionally:rofl:  |
What do these guys make? I bet it aint enough.
