I would do the engine compartment in the body color and the the engine and trans and front subframe in a satin finish of the same color!

Sounds like you have your mind made up. Should look good either way. Remember YOU have to like it.

Yea I think it would look good either way
but part of me still thinks that flat black would look better.
My dad thinks flat black would look the best.
(And he's the painter) : :hail:

I like mostly body-color with accents in satin black (all rubber and plastic parts) and silver (polished or cast aluminum)

Do the radiator-support gloss-black (so you don't see it throught the grille), and the inner-fenders can go either way on the top side (always black on the bottom side IMHO). I like the firewall body-color.

Thanks

With the direction you seem to be going with I would go body color!! Satin finish on the motor would look cool also. Will give you the contrast yet still blend very well. Good idea Travis!!

Right on! Cars that you see color trough the grille never look right.

...or in the wheel-openings, or below the rocker panels...

not to be an ass but thats no always true...although I do agree I like balck in there but here is a painted example

You also have to consider how you are going to use the car. I think that a body color engine compartment can get dirty easier and any imperfection or scratches would be more obvious. If you are going to drive the car alot and not want to have to clean the engine bay constantly then I would go black. Whatever you choose I would have some contrast, with the engine block being black, or the subframe, vice versa.

Goodluck

Either way will look awesome, but I TOTALLY agree with BC69. If you are REALLY, REALLY, wanting to drive it more than park and clean it, then black will be easier to maintain. But the body-color engine bay really stands out visually.

Satin black (not dull, not shiny) would be my choice, since you asked. But you do what you like best and don't look back. Good luck, post some pics.

That doesn't look too bad, but I do think it would look better with a stock grille and black-paint behind it. ...just my opinion, but I think the '66 nova front is as attractive as any Nova ever had, and I wouldn't mess with it.

Thanks guys I appreciate it greatly!!!

Color

:burnout: I agree with Travis, body color under the hood/inners/firewall,satin finish on block&trans. The block & trans could also go silver! I would perfer going with an aluminum radiator, not black , i had a black radiator (desert cooler )in my last car and i was not pleased with the appearance under the hood.
