I started the task of stripping out the black interior , wiring ,a/c setup and sound proofing .***** theres alot of wiring and soundproofing in theses cars and its heavy..

Here r some pics..The engine and tranny combo removed weighs almost the same as the 302 and T5 going in but the V8 is further back when installed than the big 6 that i removed

To install the roll bar ( that will be removed eventually and a custom cage installed ) I had to weld up the drain holes in the floor first..these will be covered with a better plate once the real roll cage goes in

Im interested. I've been wondering how an LS1 would perform in my e46 325ci. I would want DD functionality though. Keep us posted.
|
Cool project,I would love to find an M3 for an LS2 swap.Keep us posted.

I've talked with a couple people that have done the LSx swaps into these cars and they report it's phenomenal. They also report being ostracized by BMW purists, lol.
Looks good Barry. Any particular reason you went 302? |
Thats awesome! I had a little 328is with the sport suspension and loved it. I cant imagine how much fun it will be with v8 power and a couple hundred pounds lighter. I have seen guys use cobra differentials when doing ls swaps if the 302 becomes too much of a handfull for the rearend
