Project Liberator
Well, I got home from work Tuesday evening and this is what I saw.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ibupresent.jpg This is my official introduction of Project Liberator. 65 Malibu, My dream car. I posted pics in my "newbie" thread, but I will post again. Plans include: Big disk brakes 17 or 18" American Racing Salt flats Bolt on suspension/handling pieces along with lowering the car Not definate on paint yet, but current idea is Corvette Spiral Gray Might try to keep the light aqua interior while adding custom bucket seats uphostered to match. Eventually it will have a fuel injected engine and 6 speed tranny. I am working on doing renderings now... They won't be as nice as some of the other renderings I have seen on here, but they will be decent. And for those of you wondering about the name... My grandfather passed away 5 yrs ago yesterday and I have wanted to build something themed towards his memory. He was a tail-gunner in a B24 Liberator during WWII. Hence the dark silver paint and the flat gray wheels. If I get carried away the interior will have an industrial styled interior some custom gauges. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ve/SideWeb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ve/RearWeb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ntAngleWeb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...nteriorWeb.jpg |
nice car! Looks like you are on the right track. Post some pics of your renderings when you get them finished.

I like it
Nice starting point. Most of the stuff i start with has parts hanging out the windows and is delivered on a flat bed.
Keep us posted...you have to be excited |
Tony looks like a very nice start....I dig the theme you are going to try and go with as well...I have a couple different sets of cast centered wheels in mind :unibrow: that would look killer

I love those cars! Pics, pics and more pics/progress :)

Go for the Salt Flat.... i don't know why but i love those wheels :unibrow:
Front bucket upholstered to match stock style is also my plan :D http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/8...kylark55vs.jpg |
Thanks for the compliments. I have an engine pic and a driverside interior pic to upload here in a bit.
I went to two shops and priced the Salt Flats yesterday. Seems it is going to be right at a grand for just the wheels.. not too bad i though. I have photoshopped a pic of Sick65's car that I will post also. I drove the car to work last night to show it off, and I'll be damned I got caught in rain on the way home.... wasn't too happy about that, especially since the wipers don't work.lol I have ordered the wiper motor and heater core already, will be ordering window felts and windshield and back glass installation kits next week. Gotta order everything I can before the wife realizes what is going on....lol I like your Buick also Macbuick. |
Nice
Hello Tony,
Thanks, Not easy to find a color that will match this very nice aqua interior!! i can't wait to see it in dark grey!!... I got my salt flat for 1120$ ( 8x17 and 9.5x17 , chromed valves and lug nuts included ) by Hot Rod USA. Happily i has a friend who managed to bring them to europe, so i didn't pay the shipping and import taxes... :hail: |
I drove the car to work again last night since a few guys didn't get to see it... This time it was 34 degrees when I got off work. Good thing I had a blanket in the car. :D
Did I fail to mention that I drive 35 miles one way to work? I told everyone they better get a good look because it would be the last time they see it for a while. |
