WTB complete, high-end Pro-Tour car
2 Attachment(s)
Hope everyone is well. Well, here we go again. About 2-3 years ago I posted a WTB ad and heard about some very cool cars but in the end I purchased a new ZR1 Corvette (picture 1). Then, about 10-12 months ago I posted another WTB ad and ended up buying a Scott Whidby Camaro- absolutely awesome car (picture 2). I have sold the Camaro and am now looking for a replacement (tough act to follow) because I cannot live with an empty garage. So, if you either have or know of a really nice, complete Pro-Tour car for sale please shoot me a PM. I will be checking PM's daily and will get back to you as soon as I can. Generally, what I am looking for is:
1st gen. Camaro or Mustang LSX motor (or latest gen. Ford motor) - could be open here mini-tubbed 5 or 6 speed completed car, ready to roll As for price, it will depend on the car and can range from 50K to 100K-plus, again based on the car. Many thanks in advance, :lateral: Chris |
we need to get you your own WTB section........ Good luck Chris.
|
Dude, you turn over more cars than Rupp does motors. I do like your style though...
Tell the story of the last one? Use, shakedown analysis and issues resolved if any and where you sold it? Thx Moe... |
Been thinking about selling my blue 68.... Not exactly what your looking for...... but can be in your price range.
|
Good luck in finding the right camaro.

no kidding! I cannot seem to hold onto 1 car. It is a sickness. Take care Jody, Chris |

At Least Rupp can claim his job as an excuse for ripping though motors! I have no excuse. As for orange 69 that Scott W. built, here is the (short to medium) story. I bought it from a guy in AZ. that Scott sold it to. The guy in AZ, real nice guy, had some other cars and never really had a chance to drive or show the Camaro. Then, he had a real estate deal come up and so the Camaro was on the market and I snapped it up. The car was \ is stunning. Let's put it this way; I took it to 3 big - ISCA judged - shows. We netted 12 trophies from 3 shows. Everything from best interior to best paint to best in show, etc. The car ran good but had a small electrical problem when it got here that turned out to just be a faulty ignition switch. Once that was solved and we tuned the carb. for my sea level elevation, the car just rips. And the interior, wow, way over the top. On every ISCA score card the interior scored a 30 out of 30. The paint went 29, 30, 29.5. Just an unreal show car. Scott builds awesome stuff. OK, nuff said. Why did I sell it? Because I go through cars like octu-mom goes through diapers. I just cannot seem to hold onto one. There was nothing wrong with the ZR1, I just got bored. There was nothing wrong with the Scott W. Camaro, I just hit my typical 6 - 12 month clock on car ownership, heard from someone who REALLY wanted to buy it when I bought it, received a fair offer for it so off it goes to Maryland. A good deal for both parties. And, this guy will likley be buried in this car. So, onto the next car. I am going to start motocrossing again so maybe that will help me extend my car ownership clock. We will see. Take care Ron, Chris |

To start, dig your car and appreciate your offer to sell it. I would love to hear what is sounds like. Having just had a big block car, I am going to look around for an LSX car for a bit. Thanks, Chris |
Chris, a little off topic but the interior was done by Shannon's interiors using fiero seats. Did you like the looks and were they comfortable. I only ask because I'm just getting ready to do my interior using the same seats and concept.
Thanks |

The interior was way cool. Shannon does some amazing work. More to your question, yea, the Fiero seats were comfortable. I did not drive long distances but they felt real good and even had some bolster to better hold you in the chair. I would highly recommend Shannon. Take care, Chris |

That would be very cool. Many thanks Ron, Chris |
Hey Chris,
Good luck on the next search. That has to be a big part of the fun for you I imagine. Getting to shop that kind of market lets you see up close tons of cool cars. (and Im sure several not so cool ones too) Keep us posted on what you see out there. |

Actually it is a mixed bag. Yea it is cool to shop around and look at some cool cars, but, it can take some time and I have the patience of a 2 year old. That said, I realize many, many car guys and girls wait 2-3 years while their car is being built so it is all perspective; still hope to find one fast though. Take care, Chris |
Hello. Just wanted to add a detail to my car "wish list". I cannot do convertibles. Too much sun exposure as a kid means I have to wear a big floppy hat in the sun, or an MX helmet.
Still looking.....:_paranoid Thanks, Chris |

I hear theres a place in Cali that can whip out your dream ride in 7 days....might have seen it on tv somewhere.......:D

7 days huh? Always suspect of something that sounds (way) to good to be true. Take care, Chris |

Just messing with you Chris. For what it's worth I have (and will continue to) keep my eyes open. But, there's not a lot to choose from up here. |

No worries; Kinda figured that was what you meant. Thanks for keeping a look out. Take care, Chris |
still loking.....
Happy 4th to all,
I have received a few PM's about some really nice cars but the search continues. The good news? As the weeks go by my savings (AKA car fund) increases. The bad news? As weeks go by the hole in my garage DRIVES ME MORE AND MORE CRAZY! So, if you know of or have a candidate car, please let me know. Thanks all,:lateral: Chris |
still looking........
Hope everyone is doing well. I have received a few tips on some nice cars (thanks guys) but am still looking. :_paranoid Any auctions coming up?
Anything out there for sale? Chris |
Do you know anyone at Columbus right now? Might be something there worth looking at?
Ill check the Puyallup GG show on the 23 and see what shows up. |

Thanks for scoping GG Puyallup for me. Much appreciated. No, I did not ask anyone to scope cars for sale at Columbus; seemed like a lot to ask. That said, if anyone saw \ heard of a nice car for sale, please do let me know. In the mean time, I will continue to pass my time playing in the dirt. Even if you are not into dirt bikes, the "motor music" at about the 1:17 mark is sweet. That is me on the orange KTM and the plan was to follow my girlfriend around and film her. Well, a buddy started to feel a bit racy and so we got caught up in some fun. At the end of the video, coming out of the exit trail and to the parking lot we get up to 60 MPH+. A blast but the entire time you are praying there is no quad around the next turn. Here is a short clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaBUQT6yUKM Take care, Chris |
Man that looks like TONS of fun! Good luck on your search!

Hey, hope you are well. Yea, I am OK after trail riding but if I spend any time on the track, the next day I am toast. So, I need a car to better distribute my idle time. The search continues..... Chris |
