Ringbrothers, Innovator and the burgandy Chevy II are my choices. It will be a tough call between Innovator and Ring Brothers. Maaaan, that front shot of Innovator is sick. The headlights and the grill.....OMG!!!:faint:

Matt@BOS 07-08-2011 09:22 AM

Wow! Great group of cars this year. I Never thought I'd say it, but Dragon looks surprisingly subtle in that line up. And the RS Nova :wow: It looks a space ship (in the best way possible). No doubt the top five will be one of the best in recent years.

Good luck to all competitors,

Matt

214Chevy 07-08-2011 09:28 AM

Hey, is that burgandy Chevy II the Runt??

GrabberGT 07-08-2011 09:37 AM

My top 5:

Ring Brothers
Innovator
RPM's "The Runt"
Pegasus
????

Ringbrothers 07-08-2011 09:37 AM

Wish I was there!

I believe the answer to that is YES. Great paint scheme on that car. RPM and Gerry have to be really pleased.

GrabberGT 07-08-2011 09:44 AM

Just curious here... Is the autocross timed for SMOTY contestants? Does their time carry any weight in competition or is it simply to show that the car is capable? If the time is a factor, the only car known to have any shakedown time is the Ring Brothers.

coolwelder62 07-08-2011 09:53 AM

WOW!! Those are some real nice car's.Good luck to everyone who has build one of these car's.Thanks for sharing w/those of us who could not atend.

Yes. No.

Some of the highlights:
Billet firewall
One piece billet grill
All corvette suspension reworked in brush nickel
Over $98,000 in brush nickel alone!
Half of the roof is from a 65 Chevy impala
All glass was made for it
Chopped top and pancaked
Indy air jacks
Full bell pan, you can't see anything underneath at all
Headlight and tail light were one off, over $10,000 on them.

The shop is Spitzer Composites http://www.gospitzer.com

They are currently building a 1970 Cuda and Challenger.

The Challenger will have a complete carbon monocoque tub like the Indy cars!

They built a great 8 Ridler roadster a couple of years ago.

PS, I'm sorry, most importantly, THANKS for posting pics!

Flash68 07-08-2011 12:29 PM

Wow what an insane group of cars. I am usually not loving more than a handful but this is well beyond that! Would be fun to be there.

That 69 RR is ridiculous!

nacnac 07-08-2011 03:43 PM

Ring Brothers mustang.

70rs 07-08-2011 04:28 PM

toddshotrods 07-08-2011 04:46 PM

At least someone took pictures, I just drooled. I can't pick a fav yet, need more drool time, but the Runt just does it for me, for some reason...

It's an awesome event this year. Just being there has a special feeling. Probably why I couldn't remember to use my freakin camera!

None of those cars ever come to WA show.

DriverzInc 07-08-2011 05:59 PM

Good group of cars. Lots of space shippy looking stuff this year, but not in a bad way, good lookers from the photos. THANK YOU for posting.... I'm sad we're not out there this year... next year.

BaddestBuick 07-08-2011 06:28 PM

Does the passngr side/roof of that 69 roadrunner look lower than the driver side? Probably just the angle in the pics....

BBC71Nova 07-08-2011 06:58 PM

I'm a Chevy guy at heart but those Stangs are making a STRONG showing :wow:

I doubt it very seriously on a build of this caliber and a consideration for SMOY. It's just the 3 dimensional look from the front driver's 3/4 view.

SAR Star 07-09-2011 08:45 AM

Interesting lineup, the bar gets higher every year. I'm going with the RS nova.

214Chevy 07-09-2011 09:03 AM

When do we find out who the winner is??

rwhite692 07-09-2011 09:52 AM

The RS Nova, it would be so cool to see that in a Transformers movie....regular plain-Jane nova, grandma parks it at church....then Whammo!

skatinjay27 07-09-2011 11:18 AM

between the cars shown here i would say it def. comes down to RB and RS but i think using the Columbus show as the revel also helps ALOT with the judging of the SMOY... imo i think thats what happened with the RB's fairlane last year, it lost alot of hype by already being at sema and toured around (same position as the dragon) but i think RB know that but since the've already got a few smoty belts its no long thier MAIN focus.
that nova looks like some serious future mobile shiz!:unibrow:

All of these cars are unbelievable, the RR, Ringbrothers, Inovator, and the black trans am are my favorites. The RR really stands out to me because I dont get to see alot of mopars where I live. Wish I would have got to go this year.

mexMan 07-09-2011 02:06 PM

OH MY GOD PEGASUS IS PURE AWESOMENESS, and Innovator, dear Lord have mercy, too cool for this world.

Streetwerkz 07-09-2011 02:20 PM

Gonna be tough, all of the cars are super clean fab & very well styled!!

They are all winners, sadly only one trophy.

All the participating shops & car owners should be proud

zcrz 07-09-2011 03:02 PM

I saw these cars in person today. Pure badass.
..the white nova is insane .....the black ta is badass as well

toddshotrods 07-09-2011 03:31 PM

SMOY = Innovator!

BaddestBuick 07-09-2011 04:09 PM

After looking at the pics; innovator is best, i want those side mirrors, guys are those available for purchase

garickman 07-09-2011 04:12 PM

Does anyone have full 360 degree photos of innovator or more interior pics?

I think I do. I still have to get them off my camera's card and resized, might take a little bit but they should be on here tonight. I took a little over a hundred pics today - still had trouble remembering to use the camera along with my eyeballs. They're a coming....

Looking forward to the pics. Thanks for updating those of us not fortunate enough to be there.

Nope it didn't make Top 5. Darn it! That's something else I usually do - take a pic of the SMOY and SROY line-ups inside the building, at the ceremony. Never crossed my mind this year?!

Al Moreno 07-09-2011 06:52 PM

Todd thanks for posting, greet pics

Do you know who won SROY?
