Hey guys,

Long time lurker... but since I am finally close to getting my baby back on the road, I figured I would share some build photos.

I've owned her for 17+ years and finally figured she needed the "21st century" updates. An LS2, new Baer brakes, DSE suspension, etc, etc... That ought to make her a great driver!

Yeah Eric,

You want to talk about disappointed when I pulled the dash pad and cowl:brix: But, the work had to be done if the car was to be put back together correctly.

Brian @ ScreaminPerformance is a master fabricator. He has built jigs that hit all the factory points. He rigs them before he cuts so that when the welding begins, he has it perfectly aligned. He is a die hard Camaro guy. Some of the stuff he "saves" and brings back to life would scare mere mortals :hail:

Well, it's been a while since an update... I've been very busy with world-events and Brian has been very busy with many other projects around the shop...

Since it's Veteran's Day and I have time off, I figured it was time to "post-up".

Great job. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone paint the dash outside of the car then weld in into place. Looks great.

Thanks MrFixit! BTW, the dash is NOT welded in! Note the zurk (?) fittings across the top. We had that dash in-n-out so many times that Brian decided to do something different... He installed it with those so that the dash just pivots down once you unscrew the zurks(?). It's pretty simple, very stout, and doesn't vibrate... He's done it in a few of his track cars. Check it out on my build site, around pic 375... you'll see how Brian did it.

..we have a pulse! Wasn't quite sure where i wanted the computer so we decided on it being under the left front fender. Fabbed up a bracket to mount the ECM/TCM as well as the remote reservoir for the P/S. I think it turned out well!

Well, coming down to the wire!! Brian finished all the exhaust and welded in the frame connectors... He got the exhaust tucked nicely!! We're just waiting on Mark @ NewVintage to send a new set of gauges... had and issue with the RPM gauge so Mark is just building a whole new set...

Kirk,

I'm using DynaTech headers from their first gen LSx conversion. Additionally, I am using the Detriot Speed LSx engine moutns. They work with the headers.

Those look like Screamin Performance ones. Since he has a link to Screaminperformance.com in his signature I would have faith they are from them.
