Steelers? Seahawks?

Who's gonna win and what's your call on the spread. I hope the Steelers win - for Jody's sake.

TravisB 02-02-2006 11:34 AM

I voted for the seahawks.....since this would be there first! :)
I really didn't follow either team

MarkM66 02-02-2006 11:56 AM

I'm just glad I know who's playing in it now, .

DCreations 02-02-2006 12:04 PM

Definitely Steelers. Don't think they can be beat at this point in time. This of course assumes that the team plays like they have the last several weeks.

I am going for the Steelers...I am a Raiders fan.. so go AFC.

Stuart Adams 02-02-2006 01:08 PM

Steelers. 31-17.

61Bubbletop 02-02-2006 01:17 PM

I vote for the Steelers..Then Jody can splurge on a new gym bag with a logo you can actually see..

RaceMan 02-02-2006 01:28 PM

I gotta root for the Seahawks but I don't think they can beat to Steelers , maybe if they get some pointers from my Patriots they can do it

promax/vennom#16 02-02-2006 02:19 PM

Seahawks

I am pulling for the Seahawks. My 8 year old son likes the Steelers along with his mother ( the only reason she likes the Steelers , is because of Coach Cowher, she thinks he is good looking, I tell her he looks like Dudley Do Rite.) So lets go Seahawks!! :cheering:

I'll be supporting the Steelers on this one. The whole team is awesome and seem unstoppable at this time. It would also be nice to see Bettis get his ring before retiring.

Yeah, if you install a 48" plasma in the car for the drive. And yes, it has to work!

The Steelers gotta take it. They have been so tough lately. Can't believe how they blasted their way to the Superbowl this year.

Sales@Dutchboys 02-02-2006 06:14 PM

Im going to take the steelers

hotwheels 02-02-2006 07:16 PM

i have to go with the steeler's, but i would love to see the seahawk's pull an upset.........

markss28 02-03-2006 08:50 AM

I say Steelers. At this point in the game I am disapointed of so many teams. I thought for sure the Patriots would go far and also the Colts. What happened to them. Any way go Cowboys. I know they are not playing but if their not I dont care to much who is.

zbugger 02-05-2006 09:51 PM

Well, looks like the Steelers won it. No offense Jody and other Steeler lovers, but I think it was given to them. Damn officials.

And I disagree. Seattle was holding constantly and only got called a couple times. Stevens fumble that wasn't called a fumble. The pick play in the end zone. Seattle had many opportunities to win the game and frankly looked better to me. But they didn't make the plays they had to and lost by two scores.

Well, I think only Ben's elbow broke the plane, the touchdown brought back by holding wasn't holding, and the "push-off" wasn't really a push off as the defender wasn't affected by the contact. I do agree that the Seahawks didn't take advantage of their better play, as they did outplay the Steelers, but in pivotal situations, the refs blew it. There were a few times the announcers even made comments about bad calls. Yeah, I think Stevens did fumble the ball, but that was obviously a blown call. As for the holding not being called, it always happens in the NFL without being called. But I also noticed the Steelers center starting to lean backwards before snapping the ball. Isn't that a false start? Never called either.

Stuart Adams 02-05-2006 10:02 PM

Steelers baby, awesome.

srh3trinity 02-06-2006 11:33 AM

Hasselbeck also got called for a "chop block" after he threw the interception when he was trying to tackle the db that intercepted it, that added a 15 yard penalty and was another to add to the bogus call list. Of course, he shouldn't have thrown the interception in the first place.

XcYZ 02-06-2006 11:39 AM

How about the Stones? That was a horrible performance.

Great pic Jody. Looks like a TD to me. Hopefully Sean Alexander will sign with Pittsburgh next year.

srh3trinity 02-06-2006 12:44 PM

I should have put this at the end of my post, I am glad that Bettis got to go out the way he did. I wouldn't mind seeing Shaun Alexander somewhere else, although I have gotten used to seeing him as a Seahawk, Gotta pull for former Crimson Tide players.

JayR 02-06-2006 01:16 PM

MVP should have been given to ref, Bill Leavy......

I was not sober at all by that time, but I did think the same. He sounded bad :(

Stuart Adams 02-06-2006 02:56 PM

The Stones are coming to Vegas. I checked prices for good seats, are you sitting down, no sit down, 400.00 and up per ticket, WTF.

You guessed it - I passed.

The call on the field was TD. If they rule inconclusive on the replay the call on the field stands.......... TD. There is a better pic and I'll find it but he was over and there certainly was no evidence to overturn that. Even ESPN is apparently showing a shot that shows it was the right call.

Bad calls both ways, but the Seahawks made too many mistakes and couldn't make a play when they needed to. Steelers played their worst playoff game by far and still won by 11 points.

Let's see:

Did Bill Leavy blow the coverage and bite on the trick-play, fake reverse Randle-El to Ward pass that the Steelers have been using all year?
No, the Seachickens did.

Did Bill Leavy overpersue, get out of his rushing lane and get blocked clean into next week on the play that sprung Willie Parker for 70yds?
No, the Seachickens did.

Did Bill Leavy manage the clock like Marv Leavy?
No, the Seachickens did.

Did Bill Leavy drop four key passes after shooting his fat mouth off all week?
No, Jeramy Stevens who plays for the Seachickens did.

I know Im going to get ALOT of flack for this comment, but the Stones SUCK!

1970cuda 02-06-2006 05:04 PM

td?

remember if it is called a td on the field then the proof must overhelming show that it is not. if it is inconclusive then the call on the field is upheld.
i personal don't think the it was a td and jackson should have never been called for offensive pass interference and this is from someone that wanted the steelers to win

ps the stones did suck conclusively

Now you're threatening my dog! :wow:

Here's a copy/paste of my last response to a Seahawk friend on another board.

" Officiating was not superb. Steelers played bad, but made enough plays to win. The QB who'd led all QB's in the playoffs with a rating of 124 laid an egg and hit a 22 rating. Hasselbeck outplayed Ben no doubt.

Steelers did not play better than the Seahawks in my opinion, other than made a few key plays when they had to. Hasselbeck did enough to win if Stevens would have hung onto the balls. He appeared psyched out as bad as Ben. If you think I felt good about the win you're wrong. I am happy they won obviously, but not the way it played out. The calls did hurt you a lot and were equally the cause along with your player miscues. But most of the calls appeared correct to me. Evenly called is debateable, and they were leaning on you guys a lot. Kinda like being pulled over for speeding when there's a guy ahead of you going even faster; you feel singled out as you weren't breaking the law as much, yet you were breaking the law and he just happened to pick you.

The bottom line is the refs did not help you at all, but you still had opportunities to take the game. So although it will be a controversial game you just needed to make another couple plays and the outcome would have been different.

Your team played better than I thought they would and mine played worse. You definitely earned respect from me. "

Um, that is NOT a TD. The part of the picture that you must think is the ball with the white blur is Ben's arm... Look up and to the right - THAT'S the ball, which did not cross the line. Blown call. Twice.

Uh Tom, it is a touchdown. Most of the nation has figured that out by now, even ESPN has been showing it. The white is not the ball, it's his playsheet on his arm. But it's cradled around the ball, which is the brown oval thing that is a few inches across the line. ESPN has been showing another view.

Here's a small video, tough to see. Watch the video and see how he's carrying the ball. Then compare it to the previous picture. You're looking at what may be a players helmet as the ball, the ball is inside the white play sheet on his forearm.
