Sema dress code?
Hi all :)
Well my brother and I are very excited as we get to go to sema thur and fri  I guess my brother got 2 passes as he is part of the opinion leader program! Anyway he mentioned that he thought he saw there was a dress code or something but can't find it anymore? So to all the great people here that have gone, can I wear my t-shirt and jeans or do I have to break out some "nice" clothes? We are from wisconsin and its 50 degrees here and we are wearing shirts outside so I have a feeling we are going to want to wear shorts etc but I don't want to get kicked out of this either! Defiantly going to check out ironworks as I have loved all the projects there have been doing  Hope to see/meet some of you guys there :D Thanks for the help! |

Business casual, short skirts, camo, it all goes! lol |
Yeah. In the tire and wheel hall less is more :-).
Polo and nice jeans or dockers and you'll be dressed as well as most anyone there. You'll have a blast |
Dude -- they let me in so there is very obviously zero accounting for taste, codes, or class.

Wear very comfortable walking shoes. It's brutal on your back, shoes, ankles, feet, legs, wallets, advil, visine, imodium.
Other than that seeing all these diseased pups that are knee deep in this stuff, it's awesome. |

I actually thought about that, so I went for a run around my neighborhood yesterday. Its an accelerated break in process. Its like heat cycling the tires before you really push them. HAHA.

The daytime high temps will be about 10 degrees lower this week than last year, which is nice.
|
Wow lots of replies :) I knew I could count on you guys! Thank you very much for the info I will be packing shorts, jeans and some nice shirts tomorrow!
I have a couple month old pair of shoes I can wear so they should be broken in by now  Wohoo! Vegas tomorrow!! :D |
Well, did your dogs survive walking the miles of asphalt and carpeted concrete floors that encompass the SEMA show?
|
Yup we survived :)
Show was awesome, bad part didn't have enough time to see everything :( I think we would have been able to see more show and cars but my brother wanted to go through the entire wheel/tire floor which I thought we both agreed on skipping weeks prior to going, oh well typical brother relationship  We also didn't realize that the "opinion leader" was so easy to get, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone this year. Basically my brother filled out the stuff and got accepted, thinking this may be the only time for me to go to sema we "made" it work to be able to go. I just got married in july and spent lots on wedding/honeymoon and basically had to work a lot to have some fun money to make it to vegas etc. I don't regret going it just would have been nice to maybe go next year instead of this year. I did get to meet Frank, his son in law Adam (I think that was his name) and there wives, Frank is the owner of the "48 that ironworks built, beautiful truck wish I had more time to look at it, and Adam owns the '60 Ford ironworks is doing. They are a great bunch of people and I am very happy I was able to see ironworks work in person as I have been amazed at the pics I have seen! So in closing if you have never been to sema and you would like to go fill out the opinion leaders survey on there site and from what we were told at the show you won't be turned down  I defiantly hope to go back in a couple years and hopefully I can plan on meeting up with some of you guys as I love how close all of you are on this site and the great work these cars have done to them! Top notch!!! |
