66 Chevelle 502 EFI

Here's another one that showed up yesterday. I've been looking forward to ripping into:unibrow:

It was a very nice Street Race Hero built in '95. It has one of the first 502's that was sold in the Seattle area back in the day complete with the first Jesel Drive for a 502..well that was then- http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...%20car/011.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...%20car/009.jpghttp://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...%20car/017.jpg

youthpastor 11-12-2011 06:58 PM

this is 2011 and it's getting another transformation

The build will have the usual suspects

complete Speedtech Suspension for A- Body

Ride Tech coil overs

Rushforth Wheels

Neslon Racing Engines EFI and dyno

Baer 6 piston brakes

ATS spindles

We are going to do some cosmetics and put it back together and have some track day fun! http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...%20car/023.jpg super clean original floor pans!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...%20car/029.jpg

rwhite692 02-15-2012 12:53 PM

syborg tt 02-15-2012 02:06 PM

Subscribed - I always like watching your builds

youthpastor 02-15-2012 02:53 PM

Thank's guys! The 55 was here for a small punch list and a modern EFI Stealth Ram.

Moderators- If you could remove Nelson from the title that would be cool....we are getting our client's engine back and going with a Hogans or some other idea of intake- any input on a cool big block intake?

skatinjay27 02-15-2012 04:42 PM

anything from him is sexy!

This is what I'm using http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...fi_chevy.shtml

pro flo xt for rectangle ports. Looks good in the black powdercoat.

Thanks man, just finishing up the mini-tub install.

a wider tub now exsists!! Tony at ABC makes a killer piece that saves a bunch of time like the DSE stuff for Camaros.

I will get pictures up. I've been a little buried here

Chris, good stuff there. Thanks again for letting me stop by your shop, it's a good thing you've got going there. Some very nice cars you're building.

Rick D 05-23-2012 05:48 PM

Looking great Chris, love the direction of this build!

tones2SS 05-23-2012 06:12 PM

Looking really good Chris. Good to hear that you are busy building cars.

youthpastor 05-23-2012 09:31 PM

thanks guys! this one is coming along pretty quick. The main body is painted, wired and at Stitches getting the interior done. We've got a few surpises on the dash and valve covers that should be pretty slick- Chris

trying to figure out what to do with the Nelson intake..any ideas?

the clearance is really tight-

ShadowGrayGuy 05-24-2012 04:43 AM

Looks like some serious bends are in order - possibly too tight to fit?. Maybe you should send the intake my way. Besides - the smooth finish doesn't match your valve covers! :D

MarkM66 05-24-2012 05:31 AM

I noticed on a '69 Camaro with BBC and that intake, that they moved the radiator to the front side of the core support. Anyway that's possible?

tones2SS 05-26-2012 07:26 PM

What's up with that Lime Green Mopar in the background?!?:unibrow:

no way, too tight with the grill and bracketry. Unless you do a serious radiator tilt back and down a bit but that intake angles down a lot.

You can fab up a y split with aluminum pipe and go left and right of the fans, or maybe oval tube and go straight down between the fans then open up into an air cleaner box.

Nice work Chris. Good to hear you guys are doing well.

Thanks guys. The oval tube is kinda what we were thinking, maybe out of silver carbon-fiber so it kinda matches. That Nelson intake is about a mile long- fitment issues in a '66 Chevelle??

Tone- that is getting some Rushforth wheels, interior and cleaning up the engine and underhood treatment. It's really a clean car for around here, no rust ever- Chris

BanditDave 05-28-2012 05:45 AM

Man, I missed a lot of this thread's development. I saw the first few posts but c'mon man....that AME frame is too damn sweet!!!! Brought a tear to my eye when you stuffed the Rushforth's in the wells!!!

BTW thanks for mentioning those ABC tubs!!! I plan on eventually going with a frame like this when funds allow and it is good to know there is a "stock-style" tub on the market to give builders a running start!

Awesome build as always man!!!

Dave

youthpastor 08-14-2012 08:05 AM

Monday was a big day around here. After fighting trying to get the right gloss on the firewall after modifying it again we finally put the body on the frame for the last time.

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...59894718_n.jpg

Let the SEMA count-down begin. The car will be in the Dynomax booth in Hot Rod Alley against the south wall.

GregWeld 08-14-2012 08:12 AM

EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Good to hear Chris!

Frankenstine 08-14-2012 10:10 AM

Intake Idea

Just a thought, seen where Holohan's Hot Rod Shop had done some modification to an intake like this on a camaro he was working on, nice build:thumbsup:

Rick D 08-14-2012 12:08 PM

Very nice Chris! Car is coming out great  Love the big block!

Jgpclone 08-14-2012 12:48 PM
